This might be a bit soon, but I want to do it while these thoughts are fresh in my mind.

I think most of you are familiar with how I first got him, but if not, here's a short rundown.

I already had 3 cats, Black Tom, Fudge and William, and my neighbour, Dave, had been asking if I'd like aother one. I'd said no a couple of times, 3 was plenty, when he went inside and brought this yowling black and white ball of fluff out to show me. He was struggling to get away from Dave, when he asked me to hold Beckett and passed him to me over the fence. He settled down as soon as I held him and was purring like a madcat, so I agreed to take him for the weekend to see how he settled/got on with my other cats. The truth is, both Dave and myself knew then he would be staying with me.

That was 18 months ago, and what a fantastic 18 months they were, he was an absolute joy to have. Different in so many ways to my other #1 cat, Black Tom, but both were blessed with the most amazing characters. It's probably wrong to have a favourite if you have more than one cat, but it was hard not to with these.

I hope you've all enjoyed reading about Becketts antics over the all too short time he was with me (I'm sure there must have been a typo, it was surely meant to be 18 years, not months) as much as I've enjoyed seeing them and posting about them, both here and at the old forum.

Oh, and Beckett, now that you've had time to settle in your new home, don't forget to tell Black Tom how much we all miss him, especially Fudge.....and I think she even secretly misses you, I know Bola does.

RIP Beckett, a unique cat that was taken far too soon (please excuse the tear stains on this post)

Ian

Gorgeous little, Beckett - you'll be so sorely missed... not just by your loving human, Ian, but by all of us that was touched by your life, reading about the antics you got up to!

Sending you and Ian all my love... and give Black Tom a great big snuggle from me up at Rainbow Bridge! Now you can chase those butterflies together. Sweet dreams, little Beckett, we all love you!

A lovely tribute to Beckett Boy Ian, and no, its not too soon.
The picture of him at the top with Sooty is so beautiful.
Like Black Tom, you will never forget this little fighter Ian, and those 18 months were full of good times and loads of happy memories, as if you had had 18 years with him. Some kitties are too special to be here for too long, and now he is with BT - how lovely. xx

Your two #1 lads reunited. Think of the mischief they'll be getting up to together.

Beckett, you will be sorely missed by all of us who followed your life with Ian, you were a big part of this forum and still are.

As Nicki says, you were too special to be on this earth for too long. Although you felt poorly, you have been released to rainbow bridge before you suffered, where you are now free and healthy and young again. Chase and play with Black Tom and all our other kitties and treasued furry friends, until your dad comes to collect you.

Sweet dreams Beautiful Beckett.

xxxxxxx
