Svarteper Rest in peace, sweetheart. I didn't know you, maybe no-one really did... Atleast you got to see a bit of kindness for the last few months of your life. I'm just so sorry it was for a short time. So here I am, little one, crying for the life you never got to have, one full of love and happiness... and for the life you did get. The cards you were dealt this time were poor to say the least. Hopefully next time you come around you'll get everything you didn't get this time. I don't have any pictures of you, but I got a clear picture of you in my mind... such a handsome fellow you could have been with proper tender loving care. So, sweet dreams Svarteper. Enjoy chasing those butterflies at Rainbow Bridge, where you'll know no fear, no hunger and no cold. I found this poem on the web, it's written by Tam Nesbit, as I think it covers more then I can say with my own words: To A Homeless Cat
Who was there when you died, pretty one? Who was there when you left this place? Who was there to say goodbye, pretty one? Who was there to rain tears on your face?
Were you hurt and in pain, pretty one? Were you hungry and cold and alone? Were you sick and afraid, pretty one? Were you just too tired to go on?
Somebody loves you, pretty one, Though you may not have seen them this time. Someone will hold you, pretty one, When your trials in this life are behind.
Head straight for the Bridge, pretty one. Run swift, and run straight and you'll see. There is food, there is sun, pretty one, There is nothing and no one to fear.
And there's also, for you, my pretty one, The love that you never felt here. They are waiting for you, my pretty one. And I'll follow, to hold you, my dear.
Go to sleep, pretty one, and forget. Forget the horrible life humankind has dealt you. And awake to renewal, and contentment, and joy. Stretch in the sun, pretty one! | |
