Sicknote

Post by maddymoo on Thu Aug 06, 2009 12:54 am

Just heard from my sister, poor Sicknote has been attacked by another cat and it got her eye enough so that its bled and has a scratch across the eyeball. Sickie doesn't appear too bothered tho and has curled up to go to sleep so rather than spend £140 taking her in now, they are going to take her in forst thing tomorroww morning. Obviously if she was distressed they would take her in now. This cat in their neighbourhood is a nightmare, Mads' behaviour at times doesn't even come close. It is just so indiscrimiately vicious and not just towards other cats but has attacked a few of their neighbours too, their next door neighbour needed stitches.... very scary cat! lol

Ouch Shocked that sounds nasty Helen. Pets are just like us, we can't take risks with eye injuries so lets hope it isn't serious.

Oh poor sicknote, eye injuries can be so nasty and you have to be careful it doesn't turn into an ulcer, but £140 I think I would have waited too. Hopefully a few eye drops will sort things out, as for that other cat, is it a whole tom? if it is a visit to the vet to get *seeing* to, sounds like it would help. Either that or transported to a desert island.

Sickies fine. All the blood made it look alot worse, but the eyelid itself isn't cut and (ok I don't understand this bit!) "although her eye is cut it hasn't made it through the cornea" so they have to bath her eye regularly and they have some eye drops for her. Poor Sickie.

As for the other cat... I don't think they're keen to get close enough to check if its a whole tom LOL! But that could go a way to explaining this cats' aggression. lol.

Awww, poor Sicknote. Glad to hear it is pretty much superficial damage and nothing that will affect her sight.
As for that Big Bully Boy.......... "why I outta..........." Shame though, I wonder what makes some cats (and dogs) so vicious (I always feel a little sorry for them too, as it cant be much of a life always "being the toughie") Laughing

I always think mean cats or dogs have had a tough life, but then of course they could just be like my MIL, a natural
Gllad Sicknote would have any lasting damage, could have been so much worse, poor thing still deserves a cuddle.

Glad to hear Sicknote is going to be ok. Any injury on an animal is a worry, sometime looking worse than it is.
Buddy got one of his eyes third eyelids damaged in a fight some time ago and had to have it removed (the eyelid) but it hasn't affected his vision though.

Poor Sickie!!! And how scary it must have been for your sister and her hubby! Glad to hear it's no permanent damage... thank goodness it was just superficial... but still... it's the eye!
