Exhaustion

Post by Ian B on Wed Nov 04, 2009 7:54 pm

Bola, Buddy and Dexter were having the time of their lives this afternoon, chasing, playfighting all round the house and making a hell of a din in the process. It suddenly went quiet so I nipped upstairs to check, only to be met by Bola and Dexter as they were coming down.

I couldn't see Buddy, but I could hear him in the spare bedroom, gasping for breath Shocked It took a while before I traced him/the noise to be coming from under the bedspread and when I pulled it up I can't deny I was a tad scared at what I saw. He was lay on his side with tongue hanging out and his flanks were heaving as he tried to get his breath.

I thought he'd got heart trouble, but he strated purring as soon as I touched him and was quickly back on his feet ready to chase after them for some more. I've seen dogs collapse like that, but I don't recall ever seeing a cat do it before.
