Late night Fudge shock......
....that didn't involve Jimmy
(till a bit later anyway)
I nipped outside at 11.30 last night to see if any of them were about and wanted to come in. I could make out Jimmy and Max just sat there watching something and as I got closer I saw Bola doing the same, they were all staring at the same spot near the fence
I walked over and realised they were all looking at Fudge, but she was all hunched up and really growled at me when I reached out to stroke her
I thought she was hurt and rushed back inside to get my torch so I could get a better look, but she wasn't hurt, she was sat there with a sparrow in her mouth
tho' were she'd got it from at that time of night I don't know. I expect she's done it before, but in al the years she's been here that was the first time I've seen her with a catch, I don't even recall seeing her stalking birds beyond a bit of chirruping.
As I stood and watched, she let go of the bird and let Bola and Max have a play with it, then Dexter turned up and had his turn, and finally Jimmy approached it............................It was as tho' she'd been using the bird as bait to tempt him to come closer and as soon as he got within range, all hell let loose
Jimmy is still in one piece this morning, so there was no serious damage done

Hi Kath,
I swear it was deliberate to get Jimmy to come close enough to attack
