My little Strange

Hello everyone,
My little cat Strange died last night at 2 am. I didn't notice that he was ill the whole day, he refused to eat and stayed the whole day in his box. I thought he is asleep, but later I touched him he was cold. Nobody was home to drive me to the Vet... He's gone! I really miss him and I think I won't get another cat.

So sorry to hear about Strange

Cats are very good at hiding it when they are poorly, so don't blame yourself for not spotting something was really wrong with him. You must have thought, just like we all probably would in a similar situation, that he was a bit off colour/having a bad day and just wanted to be alone.

Oh NurJahan, I am so sorry to hear this. It is heartbreaking when we lose a much loved pet and I know it is not much comfort, but so many of us have to "make that decision" to take them to the vet, so atleast your lovely boy was at home in familiar surroundings when he passed.

Don't blame yourself, it's as Ian said, cats are good at hiding illness and you wouldn't of known if he was ill.

Oh Nurjahan, how awful for you, but don't blame yourself, as Ian says they can hide it so well and he died peacefully, that's is always a blessing.

Yes you're right, cats hide their illness quite well that sometimes we can't notice it. I'm sure Strange wanted to pass away peacefully, alone. He didn't want to see me crying (though I did). My other cats Wahid, Diamond and his mum Chocolate are sad and despondent, I can feel it and it's shown on them. yeah we all miss him.

I'm so sorry. It sounds like he passed away like he wanted, he fell asleep peacefully and just didn't wake up. As everyone has said, you are certainly not to blame, all cats have days where they just shut themselves away and non of us would have taken them to the vets immediately.

It will take a while for all your other fur babies to get used to him not being there, he will be sorely missed by you all.

I guess it's ok today with my kitties, they're playing and enjoying their food hopefully, can't bear to lose another one.

P.S Maddymoo- strange is black and you said you love black cats
