Silhouette
Of Dexter stalking a bird up my cherry tree this afternoon. As fast as he was, the bird was faster, every time he got close the bird just hopped up a few branches (the bird is circled in blue) He didn't give up (nor did the bird fly away) till the branches wouldn't support his weight so he came down in a sulk

Re: Silhouette
Thanks, I've been trying to get a pic of him up this tree for ages, I just wish the zoom on my camera would let me get closer to him/the birds he's after.*Prince* wrote:I cant get the picture to load! will try tomoz on my work pc!

Determined isn't the word, watching him climb this tree is heart-in-mouth time the higher he goes. That and his sheer speed when climbing, he's faster going up a tree than most cats are on the groundTeddy wrote:wow determined little sod isn't he. ---

Re: Silhouette
as long as he can get down you're ok, Sophie went up the tree across the road from us, she would have been around 6-7 months at the time, well little madam struggled so much to get down, she did it but I've never seen her up there again.

Re: Silhouette
His big adavantage when climbing is his weight, there's nothing to him. Size wise there's not much between him and Bola, but Bola must weigh close to double. You can see the advantage on the rare times Bola climbs this tree, he pussyfoots around testing the branches while Dexter just climbs without thinking.

Re: Silhouette
He got his way and caught a thrush today.................
I heard a low *rumbling* sound in the kitchen or hall and thought something electrical was on the blink, nipped out to check and there he was, in the hall with thrush in mouth daring anybody to try and take it off him. I managed to chase him out with his kill, but had to lock the flap to stop him just coming straight back in.
He's the most good natured cat, by a country mile at that, of all the cats I know round here, so to see him this aggressive over a kill was pretty
