Fostering
When I was at the vet this morning I saw a notice asking for some one to foster four nine week old kittens for CP. I have been thinking about fostering for a while now, but have kept it to my self as I know that hubby would say "No we have enough to look after". Well he is out most days and am left alone, so need something else to fill the void. But to be realistic I haven't really got the room for a cage, at the moment, until I sell my kitchen table, then there will be a big space left where that was.
My dream is that one day, maybe, is to have my own cattery, this has been a life long dream, and fostering is the next best thing. It would also be good for my daughter as she wants a ginger cat and helping to look after kitties would be good for her and show her a bit of responsibility. But as I say hubby wouldn't agree to this so am saying nothing more about it.

Re: Fostering
If you need any confirmation on what hard work it is, I am sure Kath and Nicola will pitch in!
It must be so very rewarding to do, but the time aspect could be a problem for you Lynn couldnt it, with looking after your daughter and the rest of your lot!
Maybe one day though eh, dont write it off completely. Hubby may come round to the idea some time.

Re: Fostering
Such a lovely idea... and maybe one day hubby will give in! But as we know... a lot of hard work... sometimes tears, and a lot of frustration... but at the end of the day I think the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped a kitty getting the forever home they deserve is worth it all.
Mmmmmmm... cattery... I'd love to have a cattery... new kitties in each week to cuddle and take care of.

Re: Fostering
They are looking for short term fostering, which I would be prepared to give a go. As my daughter is at school during the day I have plenty of time to spare really, and I think it would be worth it in the end, to see the kitties in going to new homes. We are thinking of moving next year so maybe then might be the right time to rethink it over.
Re: Fostering
I could write a whole page on this Lynn but am not going too. If you feel it's right for you then do it, it's only by experiencing something for yourself will you really know. If I knew then what I know now, I doubt I would do it, but am still doing it, so there you go. LOL
