Static
This is really bothering me as it is stopping me and Buddy having a cuddle.
Everytime he comes near me and I stroke him we both get static which ends up with poor Buddy backing away from me, and unsure whether to let me stroke him again. This doesn't happen with Mary so can't understand why just Buds.
He seems to not want me to touch him, for fear of getting "shocked".
Is there any reason why this is happening and is there anything I can do to stop it?

Re: Static
I've not experienced it myself, but seemingly it's fairly common as the weather gets colder and some cats are more prone to it than others. You could try wetting your hands slightly before stroking him, or if the air is very dry in your house, a humidifier might help.
There's lots of info on cats and static if you google this problem.
