Fudge not well again
She refused to come in and stayed out all night, I think mainly because of stripey tail having two suppers on the doorstep, but wherever she spent the night she kept dry. In she trotted today, straight onto the landing windowsill where she refused breakfast, then promptly jumped down, ran into my bedroom and threw up
She's now curled up on a chair in my room and has eaten a bit of cooked chicken (which has stayed down) but is very subdued and watery eyed atm, a sure sign something is wrong with her.
'EDIT'
She was sat there half asleep and I've just seen her head flop to one side, for a horrible moment I thought she'd died in front of me but she's just asleep properly.

Re: Fudge not well again
Oh heart stopping moment, doesn't she realise movements like that are just not on.
She seems to be sick quite often, if she's losing weight it maybe an idea to get her checked out, at her age her kidneys may not be functioning properly. Hopefully she's just having an off day, certainly hope so.

Re: Fudge not well again
Hi Kath,
It's the first time she's thrown up in quite a while now, at least that I've seen, and it was *only* bile today She's lost a bit of weight but nothing I'm overly concerned about atm.

Re: Fudge not well again
She's had a couple of manic scratches and is presently having a good wash, after eating a bit more cooked chicken so she must be feeling a bit better

Re: Fudge not well again
Awww poor Fudge, I hope she continues to improve and get herself better by the end of today!! It is a worry isn't it? Keep us posted
Re: Fudge not well again
Sorry to hear Fudge appears under the weather again Ian. As they get older they are bound to have more of these types of days eh. Just continue to keep your eye on her as you always do, and we know if you became overly concerned she would be off to the vet. xx

Re: Fudge not well again
She's still fast asleep in this chair, a first for her as she's never so much as glanced at it before, so I'll just leave her to it. Max is a bit put out as he's only just discovered the chair himself

Re: Fudge not well again
After spending most of yesterday outside I had to bring her in again last night. I popped her on the landing windowsill but as soon as my back was turned she was back on the chair in my bedroom where she slept all night. Shes just licked her plate clean at brekkie, the first time in a few days so her appetite is ok again and she's sat there purring her head off atm

Re: Fudge not well again
Glad it appears to have been just a passing glitch. You will certainly know if or when it becomes a problem requiring a vet - but this appears to be just another 'getting older' type of thing. Here's hoping they are few and far between.

Re: Fudge not well again
Hi Joanne,
Thanks,
I think you're right, these little episodes are most likely age related and while they're short lived I'll leave things as they are. She's never been near the vets since being spayed and I don't want to stress her just to be told she's fine, but these things can happen as cats get older.

Re: Fudge not well again
She's sat on top of a fence post atm, watching my neighbours eldest lad starting work on their back garden, but she can relax as it's much too wet for him to get the mower/strimmer out and destroy her nest

Re: Fudge not well again
She's back to being her extra contrary self again now
After refusing to come into the house during the day, except to eat, and only coming/staying in if I brought her in at night, she's just gone out after spending over 22 hours, mainly asleep, on a chair in my bedroom She's only jumped down to drink and had had waiter service for food, so things haven't been that tough for her
No doubt she'll now refuse to come in again for the rest of the day.

Re: Fudge not well again
Normal? She went out as I was going to bed at 1am, but as it was teeming down I didn't think she'd be out long, but no, she stayed out all night. I found her sat on top of a fence first thing today and she couldn't have been any wetter if she'd tried, absolutely soaked to the skin.Teddy wrote:Seems about normal then
I had to bring her in (and she was reluctant to let go of the fence) but she's now curled up on her chair in my bedroom. I even put a old pillow on that so she'd dry out faster/get warm, but she didn't want to know so I had to remove it

See that's you thinking like a human, which we all do, and she's thinking cat. I'm the woprlds worst for putting human emotions into my cats, just doesn't work sometimes.
