Optical illusion
I spotted Max sunbathing (tho' sheltering would be more accurate) under my cherry tree earlier this afternoon with what appeared to be a huge swelling under the right side of his jaw
I dashed out to check and there wasn't thank God, it was just the way he was sat, tho' I thought I saw it again a bit later He'll let me handle him and still loves a good chin rub, and even tho' my eyesight is pretty poor nowadays I'm not 100% convinced I imagined/it was just a illusion.

Re: Optical illusion
You'll have a better idea when you stroke him, it could be something like a cyst that moves, so in certain positions you won't see it, god I hope not, could it be an abcess?

Re: Optical illusion
Hi Kath,
A abcess was the first thing I thought of, a definite possible injury with his habit of picking fights with the cat from across the road but I couldn't feel anything when I checked, and he didn't mind being stroked.
I thought that as he's got food on tap here and so put on a bit of weight, that perhaps his collar was now too tight and had just scrunched his neck up a bit, but the collar is fine. I'll have a closer look later tonight when he comes in.

Re: Optical illusion
It may just have been the way he was sitting, hopefully there's nothing there.
