Sleepy Buddy
I won't deny the longer this went on the more worried I became............
He was in when I got up today, had his brekkie about 6.45am then instead of going straight out he curled up in a box on a armchair in the living room. Fair enough if he'd been out all night and needed to recharge his batteries, but when it got to lunchtime and the only thing I'd seem move were his whiskers/legs twitching I started to worry.
It was 3.30pm before he woke and got out of the box, had a good stretch and a quick nibble on some dry food before strolling outside, but it wasn't long before he was back in the box on the chair and I've just left him fast asleep on the sofa after he wandered over to say hello.
For a cat I often only see for a couple of hours a day when he wants feeding/me to play, this is very, very, unusual, tho' he seems fine in himself.
'EDIT'
He's still fast asleep on the sofa He might do a lot of sleeping outside if he's found somewhere warm and dry, but this is a first here.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
I wouldn't worry atm, he may just be changing routines, sometimes my two will spend most of the day asleep and the next I hardly see them. If he seems fine otherwise just let it go and see how he is over the next couple of days. Check his third eyelid, I always thinkk this is agood indication if they're under the weather.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
He seems fine Kath, just very sleepy. The weather has been atrocious here today, even for a dedicated outdoor cat like him, and that might be making him feel more like staying in. He probably does sleep as much as this normally and this is just the first time I've seen it.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
I would say so, yesterday was lousy here and as much as Sophie likes the rain, she refused to go out in it.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
He's just strolled outside to see what all the fuss was about (me shouting at Max to leave the cat from across the road alone) He had a quick play with the fishing rod toy, but he's not as fast as Dexter atm so had to back down to him

Re: Sleepy Buddy
He came into my bedroom as tho' he was wearing a jet-pack on his back around 7.30pm yesterday, just to let me know he was hungry so I guess he's feeling ok. I left him asleep in his box in the living room when I went to bed and while he wasn't there when I got up today, he was lying full stretch and dead to the world in the hall

Re: Sleepy Buddy
Yep, he's had brekkie, gone out, come back in and is presently eating the food I'd put down for Dexter, who btw, I don't make a habit of feeding beyond the odd treat, but he'd sat there as my lot were being fed looking at them, then me, back to them, then me again, as if to say where's mine

And no one could ignore the look on a hungry cats face. You had to feed him, he would have a complex if you didn't, **no one loves me **

Re: Sleepy Buddy
Buddy stayed in again from brekkie till 5.05pm (and probably only went out because he was fed up of me tickling his feet) but was back in again 5 minutes later. He's filling his face atm, but I'm still not 100% convinced nothing is wrong, but he *seems* to be ok.
He's spent most of the day asleep in the boxes on my armchairs (yes, there's two boxes for them ) but moved from one to the other this afternoon, went to shake himself and seemed to just fall over then slept were he fell. Later on he came and slept by me on the sofa, and I mean sleep, I had to really tickle his toes to wake him
It could be all down to the weather as it's been bloody awful here for the past 48 hours or so, but if it is he's better at predicting it than any tv weather forecaster.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
mmmm, even with lousy weather, e's never normally as docile/sleepy as this though is he? he could have a bug hanging around him, if so, sleeping is probably the best thing he can do.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
He went out at 11.30 last night and I've not seen him since, so I guess normal service has been resumed

Re: Sleepy Buddy
I found him on the sofa, he must have been in for under 10 minutes, and all but refused two lots of food then went back out.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
He's been out a bit more today but can't have gone far as he's been back within 10 minutes each time. If he had found somewhere to sleep outside (a shed) maybe it's now locked so he's got to come here.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
The coldest night of the year by a distance, so yes, he was out in it and hasn't appeared for breakfast yet
'EDIT'
He's come in for brekkie, but I can't dislodge Fudge from next doors shed roof and she was out all night as well.

Re: Sleepy Buddy
He's been inside pretending to be dead almost all day so far, only going out for a toilet break (I assume) a couple of times before hurrying back in to resume sleeping
