Big Bola scare
He was sat on the fence near my front gate when I got back from shopping this morning, but didn't follow me down to the front door for a change, tho' I wasn't surprised as I'd spotted the black cat from across the road hanging about.
I put all the shopping away then went out to see if he was still on the fence, he wasn't, he'd nipped over the road to be with his mate, so I called him then went into the back garden to play with Buddy. I shouted him again from there and when he still didn't appear I looked up the side of my house and saw a council repair van had pulled up and both the driver and his mate had got out and were looking at my house.
This puzzled me as I hadn't phoned them, then the next time I checked I noticed the van had gone and the gate had been opened but not shut propely. My first thought was they'd hit Bola as he crossed the road to come home and perhaps they'd looked at his ID barrel, realised he was mine as they must have heard me calling him, but changed their minds about telling me.
I rushed up to the gate but no sign of him and my next thought was they'd picked his body up and were just going to dump it somewhere rather than let me know. Given that the driver and I can't stand the sight of each other, that wouldn't have been a bad move on his part tbh as he wouldn't have been able to drive off.
Cue a manic 15 minutes of my (heart in mouth) calling Bola before he strolled home unharmed from my loony neighbours garden I was so relieved to see him in one piece he'll be forgiven anything for the rest of today

Re: Big Bola scare
I've just let him have a extra long session of *fighting* wth my right hand and arm and it bloody hurt but he won't get away with it again today, no matter how worried I was about him

Re: Big Bola scare
I've just had to *rescue* Dexter after spotting him jump/curl up on the back of a van parked at the front of my house. He'd most likely have woken and jumped down if it had set off as it's a open back van, but you never know with cats do you?

Re: Big Bola scare
Yeah, he's bad enough but nowhere near as inquisitive as Jimmy, how he's not ended up miles from home before now is a mystery
