David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
A must see imo, if you haven't already, fabulous viewing
Part 1/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k58iWAOY23s
Part 2/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFfeP9JkZsk&feature=related
Part3/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ltDoE51QdI&feature=related
I think this was shown on tv when Black Tom was alive, he was completely spellbound and never took his eyes off the screen for a second, then looked behind the tv for them when it had finished

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
I've only watched part 1 so far, but I'm sitting here enthralled. Really interesting viewing and aren't they fat ???? had to laugh at the look on the cat's face when Caesar came over to the two that were arguing, poor cat looked so wary and just crept away.
Will need to watch pt 2-3 later.

It's great stuff Kath, and shows just what complicated, tho' happy lives, they lead. I won't spoil it by saying what happens later, but every cat lover should see this at least once

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
Yeah, they way she *deserted* them when the rain got really heavy only to come back later and take them to *mums place* was brilliant It might be a risky life for these cats, but don't they just enjoy themselves?
If possible, it's best watched with one or more of our cats nearby. Bola wasn't as fascinated as Black Tom when he saw it on tv, but when Bola heard all the miaowing/caterwauling coming from my speakers he was straight next to one looking for the cats

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
Only Sophie was here and she didn't bat an eyelid. Talk about laid back.
That's what I thought too, they all seemed relaxed and happy, but I've seen Cats in the theatre and they have a sad life too, especially when they get *down-graded*, it's sad to know that the top cat has to face his day and how must that make them feel. Such is life though. Excellent watch, something to see over and over again.

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
I once spent hours looking for this online with no joy, all I could find was a reference to when it was shown some years ago. I wasn't sure this as the same documentary as I was convinced the one I'd seen was presented by a woman, but I soon recognised some of the names/characters
Yeah, it was a bit sad about Caesar, but at least he didn't get injured and he wasn't out of things completely.

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
I've never seen this on the telly and David Attenborough was a must see, although I do find his voice quite boring to listen to.
Caesar will probably just go down the pecking order in a quiet dignified way. As was said Brutus will need to defend his status in the coming years.
Isn't it funny though that the cats were brought in to keep the vermin under control and now it's probably cats that are over-run.

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
I'm sure I've seen it twice on tv Kath, the first time when Black Tom was alive and then a couple of years ago, both times it was in a afternoon slot, which may explain why you hadn't seen it before. Either way, it's one of those things you can watch over and over and spot something you'd missed pretty much every time.
Maybe these links should be a sticky for those who haven't seen it as this thread will eventually drop out of sight.

Re: David Attenborough: Pussies Galore
Watched it this morning, when I was sure none of my two were around as Buddy will bully Mary and try to *have his way*with her (even both are done) so I have to be careful if I watch any cat things. I turned around and Mary was sat on the chair watching the kittens, I wonder if she recognises the sounds they make as she had two set of kittens.
Mark had cat apps on his Ipad which make Buddy frisky so I told him to take them off as it's not fair on Mary being attacked.
