12.30am full-on-fight

I hadn't been in bed 20 minutes when all hell let loose on the landing, Max vs the black cat from across the road I cursed them loudly but all that did was drive them downstairs to carry on fighting so I had to get up. They'd gone thro' the flap by the time I'd got down there, so that was at least something

Dexter had been asleep on my bed and had rushed downstairs to see what all the fuss was about and was in such a hurry to get outside he somehow knocked the flap off it's hinges tho' luckily it hadn't broke this time. I'd tried cutting thro' the upper part of the part of frame that goes outside of the door, hoping that it'd give way if the flap was ever hit really hard again. It seems to have worked and it was only a 30 second job to replace it this time instead needing to repair the flap itself, then removing the frame to put it back.

Max has wisely kept out of my way so far today, coming in for food but going straight out after.

He's taken it a bit far today, up till 1/2 hour ago I hadn't seen him since mid morning.

The black cat visitor always makes a beeline for the spare bedroom when he calls here and annoyingly, Max has now started sleeping/lying on the stairs, so there's no way he could get past Max. I'm sure the little sod has deliberately started lying in wait for his arch enemy

If he is lying in wait it didn't work today as I've just found his enemy on the landing.

Besides having to stride over him to get up/down the stairs, I don't mind him sleeping there.............as long as he doesn't start trying to dig to Australia again, one hole in the carpet is more than enough

Him lying in wait on the stairs isn't working as I've just found the visitor on the landing so he managed to get past Max while he was asleep. I had to wake him up as he was sprawled across one stair and Bola was sprawled across the next one down, there's no way I was risking striding over two of them

talk about inconvenient am sure they do it deliberately.

Max has been sleeping on the stairs long enough to be forgiven now, but not Bola, he almost never sleeps there so it most likely was deliberate

Max, the little moved as I was trying not to disturb him striding over him on the stairs earlier It's a good job there's two handrails.

Accident waiting to happen you'll really need to be careful there, especially when they are so unpredictable.

It's a bit drastic, but I've found stamping on the next stair to him *persuades* him to at least sit up and give me room to get past, if not him move altogether, but better than than me tumbling downstairs.

Jezus I thought you were about to say, stamping on HIM. Yes I can see that working, better him than you.

That might happen by accident yet with my habit of going round the house without switching lights on
