For the last two mornings Mary has messed on the floor despite there being a box for her to go in. As we lock the flap at night (have for months now) they are both in, sometimes Buddy stays out. Not sure why she has started doing this now, maybe will have to unlock the flap a bit earlier.

Could be she's taken a dislike to the type of litter, Lynn. I'm lucky in that my lot don't mind what sort I use, but I've read of other cats suddenly refusing to use litter they'd happily used for ages.

She hasn't had to use the box since it's been down, so not sure why she didn't use it. We left the flap open last night and she didn't mess today. I have another box upstairs now so she needn't run down to it. Maybe she wasn't well as she had hardly touched her food the last few days.
