Frontline
Does it actually work? Both babies were deflead a few days ago and they always seem to scratch/itch more when they have been done each month. We are always careful to make sure it goes on their skin and not the fur. I have checked them both with a comb and can't find any fleas at all, so why are they still itching?
Re: Frontline
I've always had my doubts about flea treatments tbh.
When I took Becket to the vets for the first time before he was pts, one of the first things the vet noticed/said, was that he had fleas, and so treated him with Frontline. I was gobsmacked, I'd never seen a live flea on him or in the house.
It's much the same with Bola now. I was late treating him last month, and with him being black, the tell tale signs (according to the vets) were more obvious, but just like Beckett, I've never seen a live flea on him or in the house.
I'm still not convinced about them.

Re: Frontline
It can take up to 24-48 hours before it starts working... so I wouldn't worry too much. Do please keep an eye on them... as some can actually get a reaction to it, which makes them itch even more...
Fingers crossed they'll be fine by tomorrow!

Re: Frontline
I have to agree, Im not convinced in flea-treatments either. Princey was done not that long ago, and is still scratching, and has those little sore bits by the base of his tail, that he gets as a reaction to flea bites! It drives me nuts, cos we give him good "once-overs" with his special comb, very regularly, and still it goes on!

Re: Frontline
I'm sure Frontline is the only treatment that works. Those you buy at pet shops aren't strong enough. I've always used Frontline Plus which protects the pet and home, and I've never had a problem with fleas. You're suppose to put it on every 6 weeks but I use it about once very 2 to 3 months.

Re: Frontline
We use frontline as well, but I've always wondered what the *plus* bit was all about as we just use ordinary Frontline, so far so good. Although when Sophie got up this morning all I heard was her scratching like mad, so I peered out from under the duvet and she was scratching her ear. So tonight, as it was far too early this morning, I am going to scrutinise her lugs, she may have mites. EEEEE gads. I sleep with her. LOL

Re: Frontline
I know what you mean. I never really trust them either. About every 1-3months we de-flea all the carpets, curtains etc. in our home.. just with the shake in vac style stuff for the carpet (oddly has a nice lemony smell...) and a spray for the curtains... I like to tell myself it'll kill all spiders too! LOL. I'm paranoid that if we just treat the cats and if theres fleas or flea lavae or eggs in the home then they'll still get bit... plus the thought of sleeping with fleas....*shudders* LOL!
