Do all cats like...........
.....eggs?
Hi All,
I've just had a mushroom omlette, and while I'm used to Bola demanding his share of anything I eat, today he was all over me which was bad enough while I was trying to eat, but Ginger Tom was sat besides my chair pawing at my legs for some.
I gave them both some, and while Bola ate most of his, GT wolfed his down in seconds and was back for more (which he got) and didn't leave me alone till I got up to wash the plate. I'm sure he would have eaten the lot given half a chance.
I don't recall hearing/reading that cats like eggs anywhere, but maybe I'm wrong.

never heard of that Ian, am going to try the next time we have eggs. Knowing me two, one will want it scrambled and the other poached. Wonder if the eggs will *bind** them, and then there will be more constipation to talk about.

Re: Do all cats like...........
Hi Kath,
It's not as tho' GT was ravenously hungry. He'd just had one bowl of food and was halfway thro' a second as I was finishing the omlette off, but left his food and followed me as soon as I'd put mine on the plate, then sat there asking for some.
I never thought about eggs binding them, a constipated cat is not a pretty picture is it?
A quick google suggest it's ok, even beneficial, and a lot of cats like them.

Mmm, interesting. Will have to see what Prince does next time we have eggs. They do all seem to be a bit partial to the dairy products though dont they.

My Smokie used to love eggs, he couldn't get enough of them. He also loved mini cheddars.

My old cat Pebbles used to love cheesey Wotsits! Well, she used to lick the cheesy-ness off them, never actually ate the wotsit. lol

I can imagine cats would like egg, it's probably the creamy texture. I bet Percy would love a nice bit of scrambled egg but I haven't ever given him any.
Love the idea of Pebbles licking Wotsits, Nicki. Our old cat Sandy used to absolutely love the Marmite Mini Chedders and would go mental whenever anyone got a bag out.

Seemingly the yolk of a cooked egg does wonders for the fur of any cat that will eat it, and the white is a great source of protein. You can even feed them a raw yolk, but not the white as they can't digest it. I eat a lot of eggs myself and Ill certainly be trying my lot with them again over the weekend.
Bola would kill for some cheese'n'onion crisps, even down to licking the empty packet out, tho' I think it's the salt he's after there.

Misty loves raw egg, you have to watch her like a hawk if you crack one open for something.
What funny things some of our cats like!
Which reminds me, i was eating a piece of malt loaf the other day and Monty was going mad pawing at my hand so in the end i took a tiny piece off for him and he guzzled it down! I've not seen him behave like that for anything before (other than obvious things like prawns and tuna) and i'm pretty sure cats shouldn't like malt loaf

Doesn't malt loaf have beef extract in it? maybe he was smelling that.
