A cat free garden today
My neighbours are having a new fence put up today (I think, they took the old one down last night) so their garden is likely to have a couple of people putting the fence up and that will stop cats lying/playing in my garden. That might be cat free, but I reckon my house will be full till they've finished, either that or I won't see them till it's done. Atm, our gardens are one big play area for them with no fence to stop them *running wild* in but they'd better enjoy it now as in a few hours they won't be able to

aaww shame poor cats, really inconsiderate of the neighbours. he-he could be a new place for every cat in the neighbourhood to spray and mark it's territory. Oh fun.

Re: A cat free garden today
Hmmm, no sign of them yet, I must have misheard and it's tomorrow they're coming.........typical, a day when I'm out for most of it, so I can't keep my eye on the cats. As Bola hates strangers I'll probably have to leave the flap open when I'm out, tho' if the weather is ok I might get away with locking it and hope he doesn't stray too far if he can't get in here.

Re: A cat free garden today
I've locked him in before and he didn't mind that much, and tbh, the longest I'll be gone will be from around 11.15am to 4.45pm, by which time the fence should be up so he'll probably be ok locked in or out..........oh, and I'm not drinking all that time, it includes a 45 minute bus journey there and backmaddymoo wrote:Oh I think I'd be tempted to lock them in for the day, ok he'll hate it, but you won't have to worry too much! lol, oh Im sure he'll be fine. He's usually in when I set off, so I set the flap for exit only, which seems to have worked so far, but he won't have the garden to *himself* tomorrow while the fence is being put up and if he goes out he won't be able to get back in.

Re: A cat free garden today
Could it be worth locking him in then? Just thinking that if there's noise going on round the back he could spend more time in the front and road playing?

Re: A cat free garden today
By the look of things, they'll be doing the fence themselves (the sons) so while it may take a bit longer than having pros do it, at least the garden won't be full of strangers. If the weather doesn't improve by the time I go, I may well lock Bola and Fudge in as otherwise they'd be wanting to dash in and out of the house to dodge the rain.

Re: A cat free garden today
Still no fence, which in itself is no biggie, but because they removed the hedge and gate at the front of their house to make room for parking two cars, means any passing dogs now have free access to both theirs and my back gardens..............and any cats. I've only seen the one dog wander in so far, but I won't relax fully till the fence is up.

Re: A cat free garden today
Just hope they do put up a fence, last thing you need is *open plan* gardens.

They've just started, so it *should* be done by mid afternoon..................... they've got yet another dog, a puppy, so they'll need a fence more than me.

Re: A cat free garden today
Hmmm, the fence is all but done and it looks great.................but it looks like parts are missing to me...............I assume he knows what he's doing tho'.
Amazingly, all the cats have been sat there spellbound by this activity and Bola has only just dragged himself away to come in for a feed
