Slow but sure though Ian, I hate to think of the little thing being cold/scared/hungry.

Cold possibly Kath, hungry maybe, but scared, not much chance This is one feisty little cat who seems even more street wise than Bola was when he appeared. If it's going to be scared it'll be over the coming weekend with all the fireworks, so I hope it's owners have enough sense to keep it indoors.
It didn't turn up till just before lunch today and wasn't really interested in food, pretty much proof that it had been at *home* imo, wherever that is.

Yeah I would say so, if they let him/her roam around at all hours the chance of them thinking about fireworks maybe remote.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
It finally turned up today with nothing unusual in it's behaviour, so it's fair to say it must have been kept safe indoors last night.

Could be - and Malo was turning his back to me and snubbing me when I got home, because he couldn't access the house when he wanted to. He was in the conservatory, wet and fed up looking.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
He/she turned up for the first time in 2 days (that I've seen anyway) just before lunch, I was starting to get a bit worried as these visits to my garden were almost like clockwork, but it's fine

aw the poor thing. maybe you could put flyers up with his picture to see who he belongs to. if no one responds id take him to a no-kill shelter. someone's bound to adopt a cutie like that

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
Hi Robin Ann,
I'm almost sure it has a home as I seldom see it at night, I think it's owners probably work and put it out in the morning as they leave and it goes home when they get back.
I could try flyers but other than being out in all weathers it seems well cared for and if nobody responds getting hold of it is a big no-no as I've yet to be able to lay a finger on it let alone pick it up.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
I've only seen it once since last Saturday, tho' I haven't been looking out for it in my garden, hopefully it's ok and just being kept in at home now the weathers got worse.

And still no sign, after being a regular daily visitor this disappearing act is a mystery, I just hope he/she is ok.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
The kitten turned up at last just before lunch, looking fine and healthy so ones things for certain, it's got a home somewhere nearby. The way it demolished the treat I gave it suggests it's not fed enough tho'.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
This kitten was about at 6.30am when it turned up for the usual 1/2 a chicken wing for brekkie and has been around on and off till about 1/2 an hour ago when it got treated with a full chicken wing that Bola had mauled about and none of the others wanted (for some reason )
I last saw it heading for the gap in my fence with said chicken wing clenched firmly in it's jaws, I just hope it hasn't taken it home as it's owners will start thinking they've got a real cat burglar on their hands

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
This kitten tried the flap again just after 5pm and as it was so cold outside I gave it another 1/2 a chicken wing. At that age it should be tucked up warm and dry in this weather imo, not roaming round looking for food.
'EDIT 6.30pm'
I've just nipped downstairs and it's still hanging around in my garden so has probably been trying the flap again while I've been upstairs on my pc.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser, but I *may* have found out where this kitten lives.
Coming back from shopping I spotted it bolting across the road and over the fence at the house where my black visitor lives, and the more I think about it the more this cat, facially at least, reminds of of a kitten I saw peeping over their front garden wall some time back.
It seemed to know where it was going today and people in the house to the left aren't keen on cats so it's certainly not their's, and I'm almost 100% sure those in the house to the right don't have any pets so it's looking likely he/she and my black visitor belong to the same house.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
This kitten might be small, but it's feisty and possess one hell of a temper when roused
It chased Buddy off in the garden twice this afternoon, the second time it chased him up my cherry tree and I've never seen him up there before. Granted it was only onto a low branch, but even so, considering the difference in size and weight, not to mention Buddy being a bully himself, that's no mean achievement
Then, just to top that off, it must have sneaked in thro' the flap and came face to face with Stripey in the kitchen. I didn't see the fight but I heard it, and the way Stripey dashed down the garden after I opened the door he'd come a very poor second.

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
The snow is deep enough for Bola to get his shoulders wet so you can imagine what its like for this kitten today I've just given it 1/2 a chicken wing and all it's done is chuck it into the air and chase after it, I've had to go out and find said chicken wing twice so far as it was lost in deep snow

Re: One mystery solved, but another one starts
The kitten has just turned up as I was shouting Stripey, so I gave it half a chicken wing but as above, all it's done is toss it into the air where it keeps getting lost in the snow (again) when it lands. If it wasn't so dark I'd video it as it's very
