A happy ending story, tho' it shows just how daft cats can be

When I was a young girl we had a kitten called Cleo who we had taken on holiday with us in the caravan, just as we had with our previous cat. No problems on the journey there, no probs during our stay, but when it was time to leave we couldn't find her anywhere. It was a bitter morning so my dad started up the car engine to warm it up ready for the journey home, to be greeted with the most awful squealing from under the bonnet. We didn't dare look, but on lifting the bonnet, out shot a terrified Cleo and into the woods. We had the whole campsite looking for her and eventually she was found. Obviously a visit to the vets was called for, but apart from some tufts of fur missing there was no injury. Needless to say, this cat never tried climbing up the wheel arches to find warmth ever again. Cleo did live a long life after that, and accompanied us on many a caravan holiday and happy to say the first holiday was the only one where she had a misadventure.
