Max's *naughty* hour
I must admit I'm getting a little weary of this every night. I know it's coming when he starts chirruping to himself, closely followed by manic carpet scratching then when I've shouted for him to stop, his haring round the house/outside chasing nothing in particular at 1000mph I wouldn't mind but he spends the rest of the day just snoozing, only waking to eat, but come the witching hour, usually around 9pm, the devil in him takes over.

After all that manic running around, I'm not surprised he sleeps the rest of the day, must be so funny to see him doing that.

Re: Max's *naughty* hour
It was funny the first time, but after the 1000th the novelty has worn off, not to mention the damaged carpet The crafty little sod has worked out if he does it upstairs he can get a few extra scratches in before I come out of the living room. Part of me admires him for being so clever, but most of me wants to slap him hard, luckily for him he's too fast.

The carpet scratching would bug me, it doesn't take much to damage anything when they start that carry on, we repleced our sofas because of that. But the manic running around would still be funny to watch.

Re: Max's *naughty* hour
He went off on one big time last night, starting at 1am Manic chirruping and running up and down stairs, then jumping on the bed, off the bed, on the bed, off the bed .............followed by carpet scratching on the landing I could have happily throttled him, but settled for throwing a paperback thro' the open bedroom door onto the landing.
It worked, but meant I had nothing to throw when he started carpet scratching again at 5am He was chased outside when I got up, and for the next hour was chased out again every time he came back in. He's now allowed back in but is looking very sheepish lay on my bed.

Re: Max's *naughty* hour
it's a good thing you don't have a Kindle, you'll just need to have a stack of paperbacks stacked beside your bed. They really can be so so stupid, to actually do what they know is going to end up with them getting a raging, is beyond me.

I won't run short of *ammo* as there's always a pile of paperbacks next to the bedside tv. I'm sure he does it just to get attention and he gets it, but it's not the kind he's looking for

They don't seem to care though do they? attention in any form must be better than none at all. but why when we're sleeping or doing something?

Re: Max's *naughty* hour
The trick is, tho' I've found it impossible to do, is not show them how annoyed you are. Once you have it's too late then.
