Chatty cat
I don't know what's happened to Tatty Eared Tom lately, but he's another one who's behaviour has really changed. Before he'd crouch and hiss/spit at me if I got too close, but for the past few days he's been chirruping more than any other cat I've heard, still with the odd hiss/spit at me tho'.
He's not coming in as much either, I hear him chirruping away on the back doorstep more often than not now and he seems agitated about *something* hardly ever keeping still. He doesn't seem to be in any pain and his appetite is fine, and even tho' I said he's not coming in as much, he woke me at silly o'clock last night exploring my bedroom, looking for food I guess.
I hope he's not ill as the odds on him being seen by a vet must be astronomical, plus it'd take someone far braver than me to try and get him in a carrier.

Re: Chatty cat
I think Tatty Tom is fine, judging by his reaction to sneaking in and finding a toy in the hall this afternoon anyway. I don't know for sure, but I'd say it's a long time (if ever) since he's seen a cat-nip toy, let alone a valerian cat-nip knottie, he was in raptures with it, so much so he totally ignored the chicken wing I gave him
He's also got a near identical *twin*. I heard him growling in the kitchen and assumed it was at one of my lot, but thought I was seeing things when I went to intervene as it was another black cat just sat there. The *stranger* is slightly bigger and has a few white hairs on his chest, but at first glance they seemed identical. I don't recall seeing this other cat before, tho' it's more than possible I have and mistook him for Tatty.

Re: Chatty cat
He's definitely ok and surprised then shocked me earlier today.
I spotted him at the side of my house and was taken aback when he came when I called him, surprise enough but when he started the usual mixture of chirruping/hissing at me then started leg winding I was gobsmacked He followed that up by rolling about in the sun, totally oblivious to Bola and Max glaring and hissing their dislike of him.
If the leg winding was a what happened this afternoon was even more so. Again he came when I'd called him after seeing him in the garden, but not happy with just leg winding (still chirruping and hissing at me) this time he stood on his back legs and put his front legs on my thigh. I don't know if he wanted me to pick him up, but I wasn't about to find out just in case

Re: Chatty cat
He's started to treat my garden as his patch and I'm getting a bit fed up of having to stop him fighting, particularly with the black tom from across the road It's the look Tatty gives me when I intervene, almost as if to say "What's up, you chase him out of the house don't you"? (and he's right, I do)
For all that, he's getting pretty friendly towards me with little to no hissing and spitting now, often coming to me for a head/chin rub.
