Strange reaction

I was out in the garden yesterday with Monty when Misty came outside. He saw her coming across the garden and his tail puffed up, he arched his back and started doing this strange swaying movement with his head, almost like a war dance! Then he walked slowly towards her until they were touching noses, he licked her nose, tail and back went down and off he wandered! I wonder why he reacted like this to her, he must have known it was her she was only about 2 metres away when he did his little war dance and he didn't go to attack her or hiss or anything. He also does a similar thing when he sees her through the patio doors if Misty is outside and he is in. He's actually a very friendly cat who loves other cats so it's a bit of a mystery!

lol! Oh, I can just picture him... ROFL!

Both mine will occasionally do it... more so BG then Pok. She'll become a proper halloween cat, fur standing at all ends, bushy tail, back arched, and her body in a total u-turn... and then she move slowly (kind of slow bopping, still in her u-bend position) towards Pok... for then to just chill out and ignore him.

LOL, maybe he's short sighted with no sense of smell, so all he saw was a shape coming towards him and got all defensive, then he was able to see who it was when Misty was right beside him. LOL Ok am being frivolous again, haven't got a clue why he would do that Ceri, so I'll stick with my story. LOL
