Any other cat and I wouldn't be bothered, but I haven't seen her since mid morning even tho' I've been out calling for her a few times. For a cat who very rarely strays from my garden, other than to chase Jimmy next door, this is a tad worrying.

Hi Lynn,

Thanks, but still no sign of her and I've checked every one of her normal places, inside and out. I'm not bothered about her age so much, she looks and behaves like a kitten, but her disappearing like this is a first and I'm getting more worried by the minute now.

Thats the worst feeling, not knowing where they are when they've strayed from their normal behaviour. Go home Fudgey girl, your dad's getting very worried.

Is she home yet Ian? Gah, they are such a worry when they disappear for too long. If she doesnt appear very soon, I would tend to go round the neighbours, asking them to check garages etc, what with Prince "locking himself in" two different garages on two diferent occasions! Hope she makes an appearance soon Ian.

She's back, tho' it was pure luck I found her Fudge is *missing* (she's back) 579159

I mowed the lawn just after lunch and she must have sneaked into the shed as I put the mower away Embarassed Laughing I'd just been to the front gate to look for her again, then as I walked past the shed I heard the faintest miaow. I thought I'd imagined it till it dawned on me she might just have gone in without my noticing.................cue one rapidly blinking Fudge coming slowly out into the daylight Laughing

oh cruel cruel man, shutting Fudge in the shed, how could you. LOL Oh how many times have we all done that, the spare room, the garage, the bathroom, little sods sneak in so quietly it's their own fault. Laughing

LOL. So glad you found her and she's ok. They do sneak in/out of places without being seen don't they?

It's Laughing now but could have been nasty as my *shed* is actually a brick outhouse with three sectiions/doors. One end used to be a outside loo Laughing the other end is used as a more conventional shed where I leave the door open and a box for any passing cat to use....................the middle section used to be the coalhouse and is where I store my lawnmower, strimmer, etc, and of course is the one she chose to go in.

I had planned to mow the front lawn today if the weather holds, but if it rains I wouldn't have opened that door for some time, and with it being a brick building and her having such a quiet miaow the odds would have been heavily against my hearing her Shocked It wouldn't have been in my top 20 places to have looked for her, so it's very, very lucky I decided to check if I'd really heard her miaowing.

It's not been used as a coalhouse for well over 30 years now, but is still covered in coal dust inside, so her legs and feet were almost black when she came out Laughing I often have to chase Bola out if I've used the mower, but now I'll be double checking she hasn't wandered in again, tho' hopefully she's learned not to.

I think though Ian, once you had looked in all the obvious places and you didn't find her, then you would have began looking in the unobvious places and you would have eventually found her. No harm done though and if she does disappear again, I bet that's one place you would look.

Hi Kath,

It would have been very low on my list of places to check as I don't leave the door open after I've got the mower/strimmer out, it's locked immediately and not opened till I put them back, then locked again straight away. I can't understand how she got in without my seeing her, putting stuff away only takes seconds, tho' obviously time enough for her to have done it. I don't honestly think I'd have thought of looking there without hearing that faint miaow.

Probably coincidence, but she stayed away from the toolshed door when I had the mower out to do the front lawn earlier Laughing

It isn't that long since Jimmy got himself locked in the spare bedroom wardrobe for over 72 hours, like Fudge, he must have sneaked in when I hung my jacket up when I got back from the pub late one Saturday afternoon and I didn't *find* him till the following Tuesday.

I thought it was strange my not seeing him anywhere and even stranger that I could hear a cat in the house but couldn't find it, checking the wardrobe was a last resort, but there he was. If I could miss finding him, even tho' I knew he was in the house somewhere, it all went quiet every time I went into the spare bedroom, the odds on my finding Fudge in the shed were pretty long.
