Raw meat
Hi folks! I was tenderising and dicing braising steak for a stew and Mads was hanging round me so I gave them both a piece of the diced raw beef, Boo wouldn't touch it, but Mads chowed down both pieces Now I know its safe giving them raw meat, but as Mads has never before had it, will it cause her any harm? Gads I fel a bit guilty now in case she gets ill....

Re: Raw meat
I wouldn't worry to much Helen as I give mine raw liver occasionally and they are always picking up bits of meat off the floor, that have been dropped whilst we're cooking.
You may find her wanting more next time you buy it.
As cats eat birds and mice I wouldn't let it bother you to much, she'll be fine.

Re: Raw meat
You've started something now Helen, Mads will be wanting even more raw meat now she's had a taste of blood It'll do her no harm, whenever I buy meat for myself I always get a bit extra so I can treat my lot, tho' they all drew the line at raw liver....................and that was after my buying a pack specially for them from my butchers

Re: Raw meat
If she's anything like my lot, you'll have to be quick to put any fresh raw meat away. I've been too trusting too often to be caught again by leaving it in the kitchen where they can help themselves
