I've just noticed the shed door had closed during the night so nipped out to open it. It's held open by a bit of wood on the floor, wedged against the frame and door, and as I bent down to pick the wood up after opening the door, a jet black cat came haring past my hand, I don't know which of us was more Shocked 'd Laughing

I've seen him around a few times as he's tried to come thro' the flap more than once, and I don't know how long he'd been in there but he must have liked the box in my shed as he didn't run far, hopefully he'll go back in now he's free to come out.

Hi Kath,

Well, he's had a bit of food. I threw some cooked meat bits out to him onto the lawn earlier but he won't come within 10ft of me, he waits till I'm a safe distance away then rushes up, grabs the food then legs it thro' a gap in the fence. He did this three times and it got Laughing each time it happened.

He sounds as though he's feral, which if so, a warm place to sleep and food provided must be heaven for him, keep up the good work, at this time of year they need allthe help they can get,

I don't think he's feral Kath, he looks too well fed for that.

I left a bowl of dry food next to the box last night and it'd nearly all gone this morning, so I guess he found and enjoyed it. I would have left a bowl of water but it may have froze overnight and I didn't fancy going into the shed first thing to find a cat maddened by having it's tongue stuck to the ice Laughing

I've just spotted him heading for the box but he bolted when he saw me, I put some cooked meat pieces along with more dry for when he calls back later as he surely will in this weather.

He wasn't in the box first thing this morning tho' all the food had gone, but he's just turned up in my garden and is presently filling his face with food and cat milk on my doorstep. I hope he does have somewhere to go besides the box in my shed as it's bitterly cold outside today.

He's been in the shed more or less all day, only running off when he heard me outside or taking more food out for him. I think he'd probably come round in time, but I won't be trying, I'll just make sure he has a warm bed and regular food while the weather is so bad.

He's getting more confident seeing me and no longer just legs it when I approach, now he'll just run a safe distance then stop and watch me. He's a hungry so'n'so, he's had three lots of wet food so far today (and I've just put another bowl in the shed) along with some dry.

Buddy has taken a real dislike to him and will square up every time they meet, not that it's done him much good so far, the stranger has run him off every time that I'm aware of Laughing

The free board and 3 meals a day is going down very well with him Laughing tho' he still doesn't trust me and runs whenever I get too close.
