Lost ID............again
Bola that is
I've no idea where as by the time I'd noticed it too dark to check outside, but the plastic collar barrel with his name and my phone number, etc, inside has gone missing. I suppose I shouldn't complain as this barrel lasted a lot longer than the previous one, but I've got no more of that size left.
They were meant for small dogs but were perfect for cats as I could get more info inside, but more importantly they were screw fit so easy to open, the only ones I've got now click shut and are hard, if not impossible, to open without breaking them. The last thing a lost or injured cat wants is a *stranger* messing around with something on their collar.

Re: Lost ID............again
Found the barrel in the garden but it's broken
It had a small hoop, that the metal ring went thro' to fasten it to the collar itself, that had snapped. He must have been having a serious scratch or playfight to have managed this
'EDIT'
I've managed to bodge a quick repair, tho' how long it'll last is anyones guess.

I am impressed that he's managed to keep it this long though.

Re: Lost ID............again
True, he's kept this one a impressive amount of time, the first one was lost inside a few weeks. I repaired this barrel by burning two small holes in one section with a heated up watchmakers screwdriver, then feeding one of those plastic coated metal kitchen tie thingies thro' said holes, and lastly winding it up tight on his collar.
The little sod didn't want me to remove his collar to put the repaired barrel back on tho'. He was on the dining room floor but refused to co-operate, so I plonked him on the table, and if the resulting scratches weren't Bert standard, they weren't far off They were gouges not scratches
I've had to finally get round to sanding it down, after the cat from across the road did his best to gouge the table top some time back, ready the first coat of new varnish later.

The scratches shouldn't have surprised me as he's had-one-on him all day, going berserk outside in the wind and looking for fights. Normally he'll only bat a paw at the fishing rod toy whilst he's lay down on the back lawn, but today he's had me dizzy by him chasing after the feather.

Re: Lost ID............again
So far so good, despite some manic scratching late last night the barrel is still there today
