First frost of the year........
...........so where were my lot when I got up today? Not curled up warm and cosy inside that's for sure
I'd left Fudge fast asleep in the box on my bed but she went out at midnight and stayed out, Bola and Max finally appeared today, just sniffed at their breakfast then headed for the flap and God knows where Buddy is.

Aawww poor frudge, wonder why she's reluctant to come indoors, go tell her she's getting to old to be out all night in the cold, little stubborn madam.

Re: First frost of the year........
She's fine now the suns out Kath, lolling about near the front door atm and will be out following the sun all day till I get home later today.
God knows why she's so reluctant to come in these days, she's ok once I bring her in and has come in by herself a few times, but she's not keen

Re: First frost of the year........
She shouldn't do, even Buddy, who's the closest to a *friend* she's got, backs away when she stares at him. The others just know their place and stay away from her if possible

Re: First frost of the year........
I don't know what time Fudge came in, but it was by herself as I found her fast asleep in the box next to my pillows today so it looks like she didn't fancy another night on frosty tiles
'EDIT'
Nearly two hours later and she's still in tho' she has got up and is surveying the world from my bedroom windowsill atm.

Re: First frost of the year........
She stayed in till 11.30am before asking to go out (tho' why she just doesn't use the flap I don't know as she does when I'm not around ) and amazed me by coming into the living room and onto my lap for a good half hour at 10am
I found her asleep on the microwave at 2pm so she'd let herself in, before settling down on the windowsill then going out again at 4.30pm. No doubt she'll now think she's been indoors long enough today and spend all night on next doors shed roof again

Re: First frost of the year........
Tsk, you do have a contrary bunch there Ian! Mind you, I think if Isis had her way, she'd be out all night, every night, but I'd worry and therefore like her to be inside at night.
Re: First frost of the year........
Hi Ali,
Fudge takes being contrary to another level, there's nothing about her that stays the same for longer than a week At least she's started to come in by herself again tho' and that's a major relief, I was beginning to think I'd always have to carry her in.

Re: First frost of the year........
It's not frosty but it's bloody cold, wet and miserable and for all that Buddy still managed to *drag* me outside for a play with the fishing rod toy I wouldn't mind but yesterday I tied a length of string with a big feather on the end to the washing line so it'd blow about in the wind, but oh no, he's not interested in that

Course he's not, you weren't there. They do like human interaction, when it suits them.

Re: First frost of the year........
Bola and Jimmy play with it when it's blowing about, but Buddy must prefer the chase when I spin round with the fishing rod toy. I often have to stop before I get so dizzy I'm in danger of falling over

haha imagine that and one of your neighbours catching sight of you stumbling about, if Steve and I were watching once we had stopped laughing, we would have said you'd been tippling at the bottle. (sorry)

Doesn't everybody with cats play like that with them, or am I just strange?

Re: First frost of the year........
Yes !!! hahaha we do play like that but indoors, my cats just don't seem to want to play while outside, well Sophie takes off. (after birds) But inside their favourite toy is a long piece of string om a rod.

Re: First frost of the year........
Barring Fudge, all my lot (and Jimmy and Dexter) play inside but they'd much rather I played outside with them. Buddy is very much like Beckett in that he loves to run at 1000mph chasing the feather and some of the tumbles he does when catching it are great. He'd be just right in a circus as the worlds only acrobatic cat
Max doesn't chase the feather much, but he'd make a brilliant cat goalkeeper with some of his leaps

Re: First frost of the year........
Far more room for them to go ballistic when playing outside, and there is no worry that everything insight will be trashed.
