Clever moth fooled Dexter? Empty Clever moth fooled Dexter?

He came bolting into the living room chasing a moth last night, leapt up and gave it a swipe and it fell to the floor where it just lay there not moving. I thought it was dead, as did Dexter after nosing and pawing it for a few seconds, but as soon as Dexter was out of sight it crawled away out of sight. Most likely with a injured wing as it didn't fly, but I've never seen, or heard of, a moth playing dead before.
