Trouble at t'mill
Hi All,
It's bad enough having to regularly seperate Fudge and Jimmy, but now my ginger visitor has taken a serious dislike to Dexter from next door. Twice this week ginger has had a real go at Dexter, first on Monday when he ended up chasing him down the road (I didn't see Dexter again till late yesterday) and again this morning.
Not so bad if they *keep it outside*, but with Bolas habit of *inviting* Dexter in to play, and gingers habit of calling for food, it's only a matter of time before they meet and it kicks of in my house.
I've got no idea what's started this, it was only last week they'd pass each other without a second glance, but not now.

Re: Trouble at t'mill
Hi Kath,
I doubt it, I know Dexter has been neutered and I'm pretty sure ginger has too.
On the bright side, about an hour ago ginger got a taste of his own medicine. He'd called for his afternoon feed and as I let him out of the door, he spotted a *new* black cat walking thro' my back garden. Of course he made a beeline for this stranger and gave it a good scare. The stranger jumped straight up in the air and was running as he hit the ground, but to my surprise, and definitely to gingers, he didn't run away, he headed straight for ginger. Cue a 60m dash in under 3 seconds, ginger just managed to keep ahead and they both disappeared over the fence. I didn't hear any fighting, so assume he got away.

Oh it's better than TV, just how many cats do you reckon are round your place, it sounds as though there are so many, like every second house owns a cat.

Hi Kath,
There must be literally hundreds, it's a big housing estate, and one house a few doors down from me used to have at least 10 cats (William used to live there......I think) I must see a *strange* cat every day at some point.

OMG, and at least once a week they all congregate at yours for a midnight feast. We see a *strange* cat once in a blue moon, it's really not a problem for us. Could be because Moto is always within calling distance and he's keeping guard, unlike Sophie who has once again taken to wandering off and we don't see her for hours. She has also started coming home after 10 at night, god only knows where she has been.

Re: Trouble at t'mill
As expected (sadly) ginger had another go at Dexter earlier, but not before he picked a very one sided fight with poor Jimmy (as if he hasn't got enough to put up with from Fudge)
I just *hope* ginger isn't feeling at home enough here to be warning other cats off. I'll see how things go over the weekend, but I may start putting food out well away from my door when I see him around. If he ever starts on Bola or Fudge, then that'll be it I'm afraid, he'll have to find another soft touch who'll feed him.

Re: Trouble at t'mill
Ginger was at it again this morning, but this time Jimmy and Dexter teamed up to see him off. Not that he went far, he was skulking at the bottom of my garden waiting for them to seperate, tho' I was waiting with a cup of ice cold water, just in case they did.

Re: Trouble at t'mill
I'm as sure as I can be that someone nearby has a Turkish Van they let roam free. It's a stunning looking cat, semi long haired, all white bar a amberish patch on it's head/ears. I've seen it a few times and thought it wasn't just a *moggy*, but when I saw the Turkish Van featured in the copy of YC you sent, it clicked that this cat may well be one.Teddy wrote:Oh it's better than TV, just how many cats do you reckon are round your place, it sounds as though there are so many, like every second house owns a cat.
