Bola has all but stopped eating Empty Bola has all but stopped eating

Hi All,

He seems fine, he's as playful/annoying as ever, but has barely eaten since Sunday.

I've just given my lot some wafer thin ham, even Fudge wolfed hers, but Bola had hardly touched his before Ginger Tom stole it, and he didn't complain. He hasn't really touched his dry bowl either, tho' he did have a quick nibble at Fudges dry earlier (why does another cats food always taste better than their own? Laughing) and he took a bit of persuading to eat some cooked chicken yesterday, but he didn't eat it all Shocked

There are no problems that I can see with his mouth or teeth, and while he's no longer the out and out pig he was when he first arrived here, this lack of appetite is very unusual for him. I can see a vet visit looming if this doesn't improve soon.

But before that Ian, he may just be changing. Both Moto and Teddy were pigs, Moto still is but Ted changed so much, he didn't stop eating but we could put food down for him and he wasn't interested at all, he would nibble and we couldn't even say he was getting fed elsewhere as we all know he couldn't. Sophie is the same, she NEVER eats first thing in the morning and when she does have something at tea-time, it's barely enough to feed a sparrow, she will eat dry during the night though. So as he seems fine and he's still energetic I would leave it a few days, keep a watch on his weight, obviously if he starts losing weight something is really wrong, but I reckon, he's hunting and getting fast food as and when he needs it. Hi Kath,

You're right, it's a bit early to be too concerned, but this is so unusual for him, and he could easily be hunting and eating his prey.

He's much too nervous of strangers to be getting fed elsewhere, unless he's pinching food, but why would he do that when he knows there's food on demand here? He came haring down the stairs today when I got up, I thought he'd be starving after eating so little, but as I said, even wafer thin ham couldn't tempt him.

Here I go again, me and stressed cats Laughing But could Ginger Tom be the reason, you know how it doesn't take much to upset our lot and maybe GT, is just getting in the way as far as Bola is concerned.

Hi Kath,

No, Ginger Tom isn't the problem (if there is one) they're not best friend but they'll happily sit next to each other, even while eating and I think Ginger accepts Bola is top cat here.

Bola has just eaten half a pouch of Felix cod fish selection, well, all the jelly and some of the *fish* but that's something inside at least. He's now play fighting with Dexter, inbetween running round the house at 1000mph with my black tie in his mouth Laughing so he can't be feeling that bad.

I wouldn't worry to much Ian as my two get like that at times. Yesterday I gave them both whiskas pouches (sardines) Buddy ate his but Mary refused to eat her's. I tried several diffrent pouches but I couldn't tempt her with anything. By tea time she was ready for her food and ate the lot.

Aaaaaaargh! That's what BG does... eat all the jelly and then refuse to eat the "meat/fish"! Luckily Pok will more often then not finish off her food too.

I'm happy to hear Bola was racing about the house... clearly just not too hungry, as I doubt he'd be playing "Super-Bola" if he wasn't feeling too well! lol!
