eating and feeding
I've just read Laura's post where she is thinking Percy is being fed elsewhere because he doesn't come home to eat.
Well watching my two this last week, where the weather has been so much warmer, neither is eating as much, Moto only slightly less than usual, but still not as much, and as for Sophie, I don't think I've seen her eat at all. Now I know she is, but usually when she comes home, she heads straight for her biscuits, not this week. So really, I think they probably do eat less in warm weather.
Course they could be *eating out* what with all the young birds on the go now.

Re: eating and feeding
Interesting isn't it? I think I agree with you. I've kept Percy in since he came home at lunchtime yesterday to test whether he's eating elsewhere or just doesn't have an appetite and I've concluded it's the latter. I tried with a spoonful of his usual cat food which he ignored and then a bit of ham which he did eat. But like Sophie he usually tucks in to his biscuits. I wanted to keep him in until he had eaten but he was so desperate to go out I felt mean stopping him. He's alert and looks well, so I really think it might be the weather. I haven't felt like eating much so maybe cats feel the same in this heat.

Re: eating and feeding
Same here with Bola, he's a pig normally, but has really cut down since the weather got warmer. He'll just about manage 3/4 of a pouch twice a day now, tho' he'll come back and finish the rest about an hour later, and the days of constant snacking on dry have gone.
He's probably only eating as much as Fudge atm, and even her eating habits have changed. She's gone from a 90% dry diet to 99% wet, I haven't seen her touch any dry for days.

Re: eating and feeding
Mine are the opposite! Boo is still constantly asking for food whenever I venture anywhere in the vicinity of their food bowls! Mads is still crying that she's being starved bless her and yup, I'm the same! For some reason when its hot I always want more food, to the point of bingeing! lol!

Re: eating and feeding
Mine sleep most of the day and don't want their tea until way past 8pm. I think it is to hot for them to think about food, but then again maybe not in my two's case.
Re: eating and feeding
It's a lot cooler today and for the first time in a while both Bola and Fudge have just asked for breakfast, ............in fact Bola is now on seconds

More likely because I went to bed before giving him some supper yesterday, tho' that was his own fault, he'd had nothing since late morning but refused to come in when I called him last night.Teddy wrote:Bola's making up for lost time.

Re: eating and feeding
The flap was left open while I was out so he had access to his dry food, tho' it could be Max and Dexter helped themselves as there wasn't much left when I got back from the pub.

Re: eating and feeding
Same! Percy went out for his usual morning stroll, came back and started scoffing biscuits so I gave him some wet and he bolted it down. I'm just so relieved to see him actually eat something (and I'm secretly very relieved I didn't take him to the vets!). Cats are weird!
