If you have lost a cat:

Putting up posters in the local area, advertisement in local papers and also asking around the neighbour hood is a good place to start.

Put up notices in local shops.

Call all vets in the area and inform them about your lost kitty, incase someone brings it in.

Call all cat shelters in the area.

Post on various websites and forums, the more who are aware of your kitty being lost the more chance someone spot your kitty and recognises it so you can be informed.

There are many websites out there worth taking a look at here's a few examples for UK residents:

And last but not least... wishing you all the best in finding your little furbaby again, so you can be snuggled up together as you're meant to be!

If you have found a cat:

Contact local shelters and vets to see if someone has reported the kitty lost. If you cannot care for the kitty until it, if ever, gets reunited with it's owner, shelters will take the cat in and care for it, and if need be rehome it if no-one is missing it (also some vets will do this).

Ask around the neighbourhood and put up posters.
