.......on my back lawn just now, they only looked like youngsters as well........judging by what was left of them that is.

There's only Bola who I'm pretty sure wasn't involved as he was in all night, unless he was very active first thing today, and it's probably my fault for throwing out some chopped up apples yestrday. Fudge was out all night, and even tho' I've seen her stalking birds I've never seen her catch one, the bell on her collar is just too loud for her to get close.

Still at least the locked flap stopped whoever did it bringing them inside to show me, but that's now four kills so far this week.

Four and counting, but when you think of the amount of cats around you 4 not too bad.
Last night Sophie went after a seagull, same size as her but that didn't put my intrepid hero off, needless to say she was unsuccessful and pretty p'd off about it. LOL

It's the time of year, isn't it? Chicks are in their nests. It's horribly sad but what can you do. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just one cat doing the killing, Ian. I'm thinking of my mum's four, out of all of them just one is the culprit when it comes to killing birds. They've stuck two big bells on her collar but it doesn't make any difference.

And another one when I got back from shopping.

Again, I don't think it was Bola as he was just too excited at finding it, Fudge and William are still fast asleep, so my money is on Max being the culprit.

What bothered me after finding Bola playing with the last one, was that a renowned anti cat neighbour heard me cursing Bola and came over to see why I was shouting at him. At least this bloke isn't as rabid in his dislike of cats as his mother, but I hope all cats keep out of their garden for a while, or at least don't catch or take any birds they've caught there.

I don't think he'd actually harm cats, but I suspect his mother would (and has done in years past) without a seconds thought.
