Poorly Max Empty Poorly Max

Post by Ian B Sat Feb 13, 2010 10:31 am

He was asleep next to my feet when I woke today, but unusually, didn't stir when I got up, then instead of bolting downstairs to demand breakfast (and leave most of it) he ambled down. He went straight into the living room onto my recliner so I left him, then a short while later took a bit of food into him.

One look at his eyes told me he was unwell, they were watery. and he refused the food, then not long after I'd gone back upstairs I heard retching in the hall. It was Max and he'd been sick, tho' he dashed thro' the flap as soon as he saw me. I've just been out and found him sat near my front gate and he still looks a bit lifeless, so I'll be keeping a close eye on him today, while I'm at home anyway. Hopefully he's just a bit off colour.

He came back in for a snooze on my recliner then went out as I set off to do a bit of shopping. There seemed to be a bit more life in him, so hopefully he's feeling better now, tho' I'll be happier when he comes in and I can see for myself.

It's realy weird how they can become poorly so quickly yet recover just as quick and we never know why. Just glad he's fine though, like us, they have their off days.

Even tho' he's semi-adopted me (with Debbies blessing) I can't help wondering what would happen if he ever did need the vet? He was insured, as are all next doors cats, but I can't imagine her keeping that up for Max if he's always here now.

no neither can I, if he's with you more often than not, if he was my cat I would feel bloody annoyed to have to pay vet fees, they rip you off anyway. hahahaha better start saving Ian, you may need it.

I've got a emergency cat fund already Kath, even tho' Bola and Fudge are insured I've been putting money to one side at home as well. It's surprising how it mounts up as there's over £1000 Shocked Poorly Max 579159
