Sophie went missing............
.............but eventually came home. ysterday we went out for lunch and before we left, Sophie was in the garden. Came home at 4.30 and there was no sign of her, didn't worry at that point, no reason to. By 7 I was getting a bit anxious but again didn't think too much about it. By 8 I was very worried, she's such a mummy's girl she usually come home just to see us and settle down for the night. At 9 we were both out calling, her and at 10, at 11 I thought I would never see her again. At 11.50 I went out again and called her, no sign, came back in went to bed to read and them I heard Steve esay, **Sophie where the hell have you been**, she was home, bloody midnight.
Now I reckon someone has had her inside as she didn't eat but was very alert, tail puffed up, yeyes wife open, I also think someone else is feeding her, she's just to round for the amount she eats here. Today she's sitting on Steves knee and she has her collar on. I just don't know what to do if someone is keeping her, I haven't a clue where she goes. I did think of keeping her collar on and adding another diisc, saying Do not feed, on special food, something like that. Oh worry worry. needless to say she was smothered in kisses and cuddles.

Oh Kath it is such a worry when they go missing. I know how we felt when Prince TWICE got himself locked in a garage overnight!
As to whether someone is feeding her? Difficult to know, is it a small enough area to go round the houses asking?

I'd leave the collar on with a 'Don't Feed' tag Kath, if she is going elsewhere it might work.

Re: Sophie went missing............
I'll get a new collar for her, a plain coloured one and print *DON'T FEED** in capital letters on the collar, easier for everyone to read and see what happns then. Tonight madam isn't getting out to play, not that she's bothered, she's sound asleep in her box.

Calm cat muzzle??? she would be demented with that she's objecting to the collar this morning, yesterday she didn't bother with it at all, today, she hasn't stopped scratching. Now I find that stressful watching her, she's just not used to collars.

Buddy hated his collar at first but got used to it, tho' I guess there are cats who never will accept wearing something around their necks. Have you tried removing the bell?

Re: Sophie went missing............
What a worry that must have been for you - especially with Sophie being such a mummy's girl. I think a collar with 'don't feed' is a brilliant idea - but could be that she is helping herself to someother cat's food. I know my Bonnie would if only she could get over those fences and into other gardens. Her fat belly does have its advantages in that she cannot go missing.

Re: Sophie went missing............
Hahaha oh Joanne, shame of you, saying Bonny has a fat belly Not sure if Sophie would help herself, I think she might if it was dry food, but she would be pushed to eat wet, but I really can't be sure.
I removed the bell a long time ago Ian, she's settled down with the scratching now and I take it off at night when she is home, I'm sure she'll get used to it though, hopefully.

What a worry they are, naughty Sophie going wandering off like that, oh to know where they get to eh? I would agree that a collar with do not feed on it would be a great idea, we get our tags from here http://www.collarsandtags.co.uk/cat-tags-c-43.html they are very good and mid way down they do a diabetic do not feed tag and I think they do other medical tags too.

Re: Sophie went missing............
Thanks helen, I thought of wrting this on the collar rather than a tag, just in case she's going to the sheltered houses at the back of us, I can imagine some old biddy throwing scraps/treats down to her seeing as they can't bend down, so if they can't bend down they wouldn't be able to read/see a tag. And tbh some people wouldn't bother to read a tag anyway, screaming huge letters, ** keep your hands off my cat** may do the trick.

Re: Sophie went missing............
I've had to take the collar off, she was driving herself nuts with scratching, so back to the drawing board. Just have to hope she doesn't wander off again and as for someone else feeding her, I really don't know.

Re: Sophie went missing............
I've tried a few over the years, had those with the *white felt* interior, no use and this one is leather look, so it's a vinyl. I thought maybe just put it on when she went out, so yesterday it was off and on so often both of us were fed up with the hassle.
It's really windy today, so so far she's only been out ofr 10 minutes, now she's back on the lightbox/table.

Hi Kath,
This won't help, but it's worth the read if only to try and figure out what language it's in It's almost as tho' our mysterious members have got together to write a pet health page
