Bonnie has always made us laugh with her 'bird calls'. When we first found her she was initially thought to be a dead pigeon, until JC went to shovel her up and she lifted her head and hissed. Since day one, however, she has greeted us with sounds that resemble birds - the usual chirping, but also cooing like a dove. Then last night I was treated to a new bird sound. She was in fact snoring, but it sounded like a cuckoo, with a hum in between. Cuc koo hummmmmmmmmm, cuc koo hummmmmmmm. Shouldn't laugh - cats hate it when we laugh at them Is it a bird ... or a cat? 43453 Is it a bird ... or a cat? 72767

I would love to hear the cockreling. The other thing Bonnie does, which is not related to birds, but is related to her snoring, is going to mute in line with the remote control. When we are watching telly and we can hear Bonnie snoring away - if we switch to mute to listen to her, she stops in unison with the sound from the telly. As soon as we put the sound on again she will start up again. And we are supposed to try and refrain from laughing Laughing

They do make some funny sounds, which we think are totally unrelated to cats. I would love to here Prince too Nicki Laughing Sophie does a cooing kind of thing too, but instead of Coo is more like Moo, sounds so weird and she doesn't have to be asleep either, does it if she sits and stares out the window.

We had never heard a cat chirp before, but it would appear that is quite common. However, the cooing is so bird like that the first time we heard it we were convinced that a bird had found its way into the house. We usually have some collared doves nesting somewhere in the garden in spring and summer (they are clever and have never nested where cats can get to) and we thought one may have somehow entered the house and couldn't find its way out. Then we realised the sound was coming from Bonnie! Shocked Since then she has provided other bird sounds too and very strange snoring noises - sometimes enough to keep us awake. Rolling Eyes
