Here we go again (now with pic)
Sadly, it looks like the young cat from across the road is in season............again
Stripey has hardly left her alone today, in the end I got so fed up of him yowling at her in my back garden I threw a cup of water at him. Most of it missed, but he was less than pleased and I haven't seen him since, tho' as she took the chance and legged it and he followed, no doubt he's still after her somewhere.
It's bad enough with just Stripey, but one of the new black cats on the scene isn't neutered and he's been almost as bad as him.

I didn't see her again yesterday, or Stripey and the black cat for that matter. Hopefully, tho' I doubt it, she went home and was let in.

What are her owners thinking, wish CP would post out flyers letting people know it doesn't cost that much to cats neutered.

God knows what they're thinking
I've not seen her or their black cat so far today, him not turning up for brekkie is very unusual so hopefully they're both safe and sound in their own house atm.

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
I've not seen her all day, tho' there's time yet, I'm assuming she's at home and that where Stripey is, hanging about their garden, just waiting for his chance
The black cat is about as I found him asleep in the box on my bed mid afternoon, tho' he couldn't have been there long. He didn't beg for food so must have been fed at home before sneaking in here.

I got back from shopping to find her on my back doorstep, with 4 toms after her Stripey, the 2 new black visitors here and surprisingly, the other cat from across the road who I'd assumed was neutered.
I managed to chase 2 away, a cup of water and with Max's help, but she doesn't stand a chance of keeping away from them forever.

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
What a pantomime today has been, they've hardly left her alone
She's found a *place of refuge* tho', up my fir tree in the back garden. Easy enough to get high up with the fence being there, but as it's tall and narrow how she's managed to get onto a branch beats me
I'm assuming she's up there again as I took this pic around 4pm and they're still there atm.
Tatty eared tom is still knocking about, tho' he must have been seen off by the otherrs as he's in my loony neighbours garden. Stripey is sporting a 2.5in scratch on his face and I can't help hoping she gave it to him tbh, rather than from fighting with the other 3 toms.

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
I feel sorry for the wee girlie, having toms following her all the time.
Why can't people have there cats done, it makes me mad when people get animals and can't be bothered to look after them properly.
My sister has a young cat she got of her daughter and they haven't had her done, despite my attempts at trying to persuade them, now her cat might be pregnant.

Hi Lynn,
Yeah, it's not fair on the cat.
She's just braved coming down from the fir tree for brekkie, so it's likely she was up there all night, the only plus point so far today is that there's only the 2 toms after her. That one of them also belongs to the same house I think she's from, makes all this doubly annoying.
The husband works and has a car, so there's no real excuse money wise for not getting at least her seen to, if not both. Why they don't enquire about getting help if money is tight is beyond me when there are plenty of schemes available, tho' are these only available for families on benefits?
She'll soon be pregnant again, if she isn't already, so that'll be another litter who nobody *ever sees*

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
Scary thought, more kittens, being disposed of. Some people are just palin ignorant when it comes to animals.
They could be borderline for getting any schemes/benefits. I was when I was on my own, I was working, and made just enough not to warrent any help, so annoyed me that did, I could have been better off staying unemployed, but trying to get out of the system was bloody tough, did it though.

It looks like kittens it will be as it appears Stripey has won *the race*
They might not qualify for financial help Kath, but there's no harm in asking is there?

Maybe they have but then maybe they don't need to and the pets are bought with no thought on the upkeep of them. As for spaying they could be so ignorant they don't know what that is.

The wife/girlfriend has been around cats for years, so she has no excuse for not knowing. I'm amazed their black cat hasn't been neutered as I was convinced he had been.............not that I've looked that closely tbh

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
She's started using the box in my shed again and came trotting out as soon as I opened the door to look for Fudge today (who had been on next doors shed roof all night again) As soon as she appeared, so did Stripey, tho' I don't know where he'd been, I didn't see him knocking about nor did he come out of the shed with her.

All is quiet again now, the deeds been done, so it's just a matter of waiting and hoping (zero chance tbh) she isn't pregnant again.

All 4 toms are more interested in food than her now so she'll get a bit of peace for a while, unless she is pregnant again then the whole mess will start over. No doubt this will include her wondering why her kittens have *gone*

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
As if to show just how contrary cats can be, she arrived early today and promptly went and sat with one of the two black toms who'd been pestering her when she was in season He ran when he saw me, but instead of her coming for brekkie as I expected, she followed him into my loony neighbours garden.
I don't know if she thought he had food, probably as I've seen her chase after him when he's picked up a bit of cooked meat I've thrown to him as he always heads towards *home*, wherever that might be, once it's in his mouth.

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
She's just turned up, bone dry as expected in this weather, except for the scruff of her neck which was wet thro', almost as tho' she'd been Frontlined. If she has been it's the first time I've seen it, and if her owners can afford this they can surely afford to have her spayed?
Somethings got her in a bad mood as she took one look at poor Jimmy and chased him out of my garden over the fence and they were last seen bolting up the road

I've not seen her at all today, in my garden anyway, or their other black cat come to think about it. I've seen her knocking about at the front what I've assumed was her home so it looks that way to me. This is probably due to the kids being off school and are around to let them in and out.

Re: Here we go again (now with pic)
They both turned up, her around 5pm, him at midnight.
I found her peeping thro' the flap as usual and gave her 1/2 a chicken wing this time as she must have been fed at home, she did nothing but pick it up and run back home with it just like she used to do when she first arrived here He got the other half when he arrived, tho' at least he ate his here before disappearing.
