Bola loves a shed (now with pic)
I wouldn't mind if it was mine with the warm and dry boxes, but for the past couple of days when he's not been stalking the two toms next door, he's been in the ramshackle excuse of a shed in my loony neighbours garden.
This shed is full of junk and looks like it could collapse at any moment, if it did he'd be lucky to get out unscathed, tho' I suppose as it's has been like this for years it's unlikely to fall down now.
When he's got the run of the house to sleep in, why he'd prefer either shed is a mystery

Re: Bola loves a shed (now with pic)
I'm up at this time because he didn't come in last night, in fact I didn't see him after 8pm and not being woken at silly o'clock by him letting me know he was home has only happened once before iirc, so I was getting worried. Of course, I'd no need to have been, when he wasn't in the house the first place I checked was the loony's shed and there he was, curled up fast asleep on what looked like a old duvet.
I could understand him sleeping there if the shed had a door, but it's missing that and the back as well so is open to the elements from both ends and surely said *duvet* can't have escaped all the recent rain. He followed me in for a bit of brekkie than dashed straight back out again

No real surprise to find he'd headed straight back to the shed, but look at the state of it How in Gods name can he prefer this to the comforts of my house, there's just no understanding them at times is there?

It was a shed, long, long ago, but now it's stuffed with rubbish the loony can't bring himself to throw away. Looking at it more closely, what I thought may be a duvet is more likely to be a old sleeping bag so could well be waterproof.

He followed me upstairs when I went to bed last night but didn't hang around for his usual game of string, then I heard the flap go....................no prizes for guessing where I found him today.

Ok it's not the Ritz, but it's his and he loves it, well for the time being. Could be he just feels very comfortable there, it's his own, whereas in your house he has to share. Could also be he likes some solitary time, as you say, who knows.

It's more Blitz than Ritz Kath
He's not the only one who uses it, the young cat from across the road sleeps there sometimes, but they're the only two and at least he's not going into another house. He probably does just want his own space and thinks he's safe to stalk the two toms next door from there without my seeing him.

He's been rumbled My loony neighbours sister has put a suitcase right on the spot where he slept and I don't think he's been there since. I can't see why, it may not be as comfy as the old duvet/sleeping bag, but it'll still be dry and warm-ish, tho' he can't snuggle up into it.

Half of me wishes he'd been there asleep when she dumped the suitcase, especially if I'd been on hand to see the result

Re: Bola loves a shed (now with pic)
I think he must have spent the night there as he didn't come in for the usual midnight feast and he was nowhere in sight at first today.................cue panic till I saw him trotting up the garden as I was hanging freshly washed nets.
None of them were in, which while not unheard of is still unusual and it was only when I checked the flap and found it had been set to exit only I realised why. I hadn't done it and can only assume Max had with his uber annoying habit of scratching/pawing at it for ages before going out.
