Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
I heard a ferocious set-to at 11.45 last night but couldn't be sure where, it could have been my garden, maybe not, I went out to check and found a very wound up Bola, minus his collar and of course, the ID barrel
It looks like he was involved as this collar has survived much manic scratching from him. There was little point looking for it at that time of night, and little today as it's not in my garden. I put a spare on him last night but I'm not keen as while it's elasticated, it's not quick release, tho' it does have a *almost waterproof* section for writing my phone # on.

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
The little sods at it again, I've just caught him red handed (probably more red pawed shortly) arguing with one of next doors two toms in a neighbours garden. Bad enough at any time, but this early on a Sunday morning won't win either of them any fans
There'll be a new collar and ID barrel bought tomorrow (probably two of each for spares)

I've got a spare collar for him from kittycollars, but I begrudge putting it on while he's getting into fights like this as he's already lost one and at nearly £8 a go, they aint cheap to replace.
I just don't get it, he thinks nothing of taking these two toms on yet is scared of the young cat from across the road, but they in turn bully her every chance they get

A new collar bought for Bola, elasticated but with quick release fastener, the best of both worlds imo. He's not overly happy with me atm as it took several attempts before getting a snug enough fit, but tough luck.
I also bought a new metal ID barrel, but found a bigger, spare plastic snap close barrel for Buddy's collar that I'd never used as it was all but impossible to open, but for some reason it just pulled apart with little effort today
I can't see this collar lasting very long as within minutes of putting it on I found him and Max sat just outside the shed door, they'd seen and chased one of next doors toms inside and were just waiting for him to show his face

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
The nasty little sod was at it again at 6.30pm last night.
I heard the unmistakable scared yowling of one of next doors two toms, went out to check and Bola was sat on the fence but had him trapped on their shed roof What I couldn't, and still can't, understand, is why he didn't jump down from the other end as this is much nearer the open kitchen window next door, he could have been down and inside before Bola had the time to work out he'd gone.

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
He wanted to have a real go at one of next doors two toms this afternoon, but as angry as I was with him I couldn't help but be impressed with the way he did it. He's always had a very kitten-ish miaow, it sounds really out of place coming from a adult cat, but he still managed to make his *enemy* back down and who is much the louder. No actual fighting thankfully as I reckon Bola would come off worst.

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
I'm not sure, but I think they must be away on hols next door as I've not heard a sound for a couple of days now, nor seen their car come to think about it. If so, somebody must be going in and feeding their cats, but leaving the kitchen window open 24/7 with nobody in the house?????
I just hope Bola doesn't cotton onto the fact he'd be able to follow the two toms in himself.

oh now that could well happen, curiosity and all that. Wonder if there is someone coming in or if they've left food lying around for the cats, jeez I hope not.

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
The kitchen window next door is shut atm and I've heard a few what sounded like *let me in* miaows today, tho' I can't be sure it's one of their cats. I've looked but can't see either of them out and about. If they are away somebody will definitely be going in to leave food, Joanne is as cat mad as we are so she wouldn't take any chances on them going without food.

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
He had a set-to with a cat on the landing at 1am and I wasn't getting up at that time to see who with. I probably should have done as I didn't recognise the other cats miaows. Maybe a new intruder?

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
The two toms next door have been locked in the house for the past 3 days but were let out today and the kitchen window left ajar for them. It didn't take Bola long to notice they were out and about again and was really spoiling for a fight.
I've never seen him in a mood like that before, he chased one of them all over the place and when they finally came back, no amount of my shouting for/at Bola would get him to come home. This went on for a good 2 hours then I heard, tho' can't be 100% certain, a fight which sounded as tho' it was coming from next doors kitchen. It may be the little has cottoned onto there being nobody at home to chase him off so he feels free to go after them in their own house
He's not flavour of the month with me atm and knows it, he's wisely keeping a low profile and out of my way.

I'll tell them they're free to drench him with a cup (a bucket may be better) of ice cold water if they catch him at it............and it'll do him no good to come looking for sympathy from me

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
It was a peaceful night so he must have stayed out of next doors house and hopefully they'll be back today which *should* keep him out altogether.
I forgot to mention this yesterday. At one point Bola was lay on their shed roof waiting for his enemy to try and get back into the garden (the shed is concrete with a flat roof) but unknown to Bola he must have sneaked in from behind him and was in fact only a few feet away, rolling about in the sun

Re: Fighting Bola? (Oh dear......)
He was at it again this afternoon, tho' thankfully they kept it outside this time. Bola chased one of the toms over the garden fence (Bola stayed on his side) and instead of the other cat running as usual, he turned and decided it was time to fight back. That there was a fence between them probably helped, but it was very, very funny watching swap *blows* thro' the gaps in said fence
