*Something* wrong with Max
He's been pestering me for food all day but refusing everything I've put down, but more worrying, I haven't even seen him touch his fav dry food yet and he's very subdued He managed a bit of cooked chicken just before lunch, but turned his nose up at some boiled ham a few minutes ago and I've not seen him drink today either.
He's fast asleep on the sofa atm, and while I want to check his mouth/teeth, it's perhaps best to let him sleep for a while.

Soo he hasn't lost his appetite but doesn't ant what's offered to him, seems a bit off that does. usually they don't want to eat either. Even if it is his teeth you would think he would still drink. Do you know if he can pee ok? just wondering if he could have a urinary track infection?

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
No idea about his bladder Kath.
He's been active enough outside, but inside he's been subdued, more or less just wanting his own company which is usually a sign something is wrong isn't it? I'll be keeping a very close eye on him for the rest of the day.

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
I used to think so, but Moto as he's getting older keeps himself to himslef, until he wants more food, even in the evening we're in the livingroom and he's sleeping in his bed in the kitchen, he's there right now.
So as you say keep your eye on him and hopefully he's fine, just quiet.

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
I've just had a quick look at his mouth/teeth and all seems fine to me, at least there's nothing obviously wrong and tho' not best at being mauled about a bit, he didn't react to being *examined* as tho' they were bothering him.

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
He's back to normal today and started his wet food brekkie before moving onto the dry food in the living room.
He was asleep with Bola on the sofa when I got downstairs today, which surprised me as he went out at midnight and vanished, but more so because I'd shut the door and he still isn't keen on using the flap on this.
The dry food on the windowsill hadn't been touched overnight, tho' that could be down to the way I closed the curtains, done in such a way as to make it hard for stripey tailed tom to get at the food if he invited himself in during the night.
I was so relieved to see Max eating again for once I didn't mind them playing musical food bowls

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
Glad to hear Max is back to normal Ian!
I dont know what it is when they do that, but when they have an "off day", it worries the life out of us eh!

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
Thanks, yeah it's nice to see him more his usual self again
We probably worry so much because we just don't *know* what's wrong, if they could tell us it's just a upset tum, whatever, it'd make things a lot easier.

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
Not quite normal, he's inside looking thro' the flap at the cat from across the road, *normal* would mean Max chasing him off

He's probably letting Buddy have the first go at him
'EDIT'
It didn't take Max long before being unable to resist chasing his arch enemy away

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
He's still not eating as much as usual and I've yet to see him drink this started, tho' I suppose he must have, but beyond being a little sleepier he seems fine otherwise.

Re: *Something* wrong with Max
Always a worry when they aren't quite acting as normal. I should imagine he has had a drink somewhere along the line, just on the quiet. As long as he seems fine in himself I would put it down to change in weather, maybe age, possibly an encounter that you are unaware of that has put him off sync. Hope he soon gets back to normal so you can stop worrying.
