Yet *another* visitor
I don't know what it is about my garden that attracts cats, but I had another stranger call this afternoon.
Not the best pic as I didn't dare get any closer for fear of scaring it away, Bola managed that when he ran up to say hello when this cat jumped down off the fence for a wander about
I can't believe coincidence explains the amount of cats who call here, they must *tell* each other there's often free food available

hahha yes *another* one. Could be they smell the food you leave out, or more likely, as you say word has spread............................

Re: Yet *another* visitor
This one is a scruffy article, tho' it was wearing a collar, but it doesn't follow that means it has a home/is well looked after, does it?
I can't see the attraction being the smell of food as it's never there long enough before one of them, inc my lot, has wolfed it down.

Re: Yet *another* visitor
I've not seen this cat since, but I did see another one sat in exactly the same spot yesterday, I thought it was Dexter as it was jet black, but it ran when I moved towards it. I'd love to think it was a really friendly stray (?) with a big round face who used to visit regularly, but as it's well over 18 months since I last saw him that's very, very doubtful.

Re: Yet *another* visitor
It really is cat city around where you live, and your place seems to be the best place in town for meeting up, snacking, chatting, scrapping, getting some shut eye, investigating boxes - it's where all the action is and therefore must be the cat community hub.

Hi Joanne,
I've long thought there must be a local *cat-club* where they all get together and share info on which houses they will get a warm welcome, food, etc, at

Re: Yet *another* visitor
I've seen this cat actually rooting about in my garden twice today, but jeez it's nervous, as soon as it hears the back door opening it's off. I think this'll be one cat I've got zero chance of gaining it's trust.

Re: Yet *another* visitor
I spotted this cat sat on the doorstep peeping thro' the flap this afternoon, so it must have been watching my lot use it and is getting braver. It didn't run far when I opened the flap with my hand and even came to get a bit of cooked chicken that Bola-the-pig had left when I dropped it outside, mind you, a bit of food was enough for it to set a world record in running/clearing a fence once it'd picked the chicken up
Having seen it at the flap, I can't help wondering if this cat was responsible for the mystery miaow I heard downstairs first thing today.

Re: Yet *another* visitor
He/she tried the flap again this afternoon, so it's only a matter of time before I get another in-house visitor
As I don't see it for days and it's wearing a collar I'm assuming it has a home nearby, perhaps the owners aren't that bothered about grooming, tho' it could be this cat doesn't like it. For all I've said it looks scruffy, I've been close enough to see there's no matts on it's coat, that's something at least.

Yeah, same here, tho' this one always looks a bit bedraggled and a bit dirty tbh. You'd love it's tail as it's enourmousAli wrote:What a lovely cat, I do like fluffy cats

Re: Yet *another* visitor
Another pic of it scrounging for food in my back garden yesterday, tho' it was in for a disappointment as I don't throw stuff out in this weather. It wasn't foggy btw, I had to take it thro' the living room window

Re: Yet *another* visitor
That pic probably doesn't do justice as to just how fluffy this cat is Kath, it's got a really tiny face so I'm guessing it's body is equally small.
It's already trying the flap so you could well be right, tho' the way it runs as soon as I open the door when it's in my garden, it'll be some time yet.

Re: Yet *another* visitor
No sign of it since Kath, it's probably got more sense than trying to find food in a good foot of snow
