Bola met his first............
.....hedgehog last night, and he didn't know what to make of it at all. One minute it was running and something to chase, the next it had *disappeared* and a spikey ball was there instead It never ceases to amaze me just how fast hedgies can run when they want to, and this one could certainly shift.
As they like cat food, I nipped inside to get it some, but of course as soon as I did, Jimmy, Max and Dexter from next door joined Bola in trying to get at it, they must have thought I was laying on a late night *cat barbecue* or something It was a struggle to keep them away while hedgie ate his/her fill, but she did and had gone the next time I checked. I hope Bola has learned hedgies are something cats don't push their noses too close to, or paw at.

Oh the poor thing, but he/she could get their own back on Bola as hedgies are renowned for having fleas.

Hi Kath,
Yeah, fleas were the first thing I thought of when Bola was chasing it, but it was mission impossible keeping him away.

Well if you start scratching you will know who to blame, but then I don't thing it's a problem if you regularly de-flea them ,is it?

Oh, I adore hedgehogs... such gorgeous little things. And they look so funny when running... their tiny little feet.
Where we used to live a few years ago, there used to be a little one that sometimes came to visit in the garden. We noticed him one night eating seeds (used to feed the birds each day), and we started putting some food out to him. We were hoping he would come everynight, but he never did... could go a week or so and then he would pop up again.
