Thank you all. She is doing so well! (much better than I'd be doing in the same situation), despite her protests, she has been so accepting of it all, the worst of it being listening to her cry for what seems like hours on the night time due to loneliness as she would normally come to bed with us or Mads and hates being on her own.

Anyway, the little minx jumped right off the sofa yesterday! (grrrr) She didn't yelp or stumble tho, so her leg must be feeling better and certainly theres the strength in it to jump! LOL! Her other leg seems ok now too, I wonder if its because she wasn't able to weight bear on the one that was operated on so her 'good' leg was taking all the strain and with it not being so 'good' itself, it just couldn't take it, but now that her legs doing so well and is able to share the strain more, she's more 'balanced' and her other one isn't bothering her so much... that and the enforced rest.

Her appointment to get the stitches out is 5.50pm tomorrow! It should be nice as apparently the stitches go right into the knee capsule (poor lamb), so, may give her a little extra painkiller before we take her in. We'll be asking the vet if the collar can come off (I can't see any reason why it sould stay on once the stitches are out) and if she still needs cage rest? I'm hoping that it'll be ok, to confine her to one room (her old kitten room as there's nothing really for her to jump onto) when we are at work, then have her in the living room with us when we are home, and then maybe move the cage into our bedroom and just have her in that at nighttime. I'll find out from the vet whats best, but if they say another week of cage rest, then thats fine I guess as it'll in her best interest.

Oh I'm going on and on, just thinking out loud! LOL! Oh, oh oh, that reminds me, Bramble now lays down on command! LOL! Clever little poppet!

Best of luck at the vets tomorrow!

Bramble - Needs Operation! - Page 6 96541_cid_D6670CAE-1DFD-4036-AB43-D

It's amazing how wonderful Bramble has been through this all... all those gorgeous cuddles with her mummy nad daddy has paid off.

I hope the vet will say she can get bit more freedom... even though it would be restricted freedom for a while... but she'd be so much happier getting to have room instead of the cage... and hopefully in not too long she'll be swinging off the curtains again! I so hope her other leg will be fine.

Well.... she's padding around the living room, checking everything is where it should be! LOL! She can't jump up yet tho, down from the sofa is no prob, but she can't jump onto it so has to be lifted up.

She was a very good girl having her stitches out and she has healed so well. The collar is off, and she is allowed out the cage under supervision, but she has to go back in the cage when we're at work and at night time, so in some ways it may be harder on her having freedom, then being cooped up again. This will go on for another 10 days, then she's back in the vets to be reassessed.

Oh bless her, I think it may be harder on you Helen when you put her in the cage. Once you are out of the house she probably settles down and sleeps for ages, she'll know there is no-one there to hear her, so she'll sleep.

That's wonderful news!!! And like KAth said... I think the cage bit will be harder for you then for Bramble too. She'll be quiet when you guys leave the house, as she'll know you're not there... it will of course be a different matter at night when she knows you're upstairs! lol! Prepare - buy earplugs! lol!

Here's hoping the next ten days will go by quickly and that all will be well. Really wonderful to hear that she's doing so well!

Ahhhh crap.... her knee's swollen up like a balloon with fluid. Poor lamb. It not bothering her, so hopefully its just from walking around the living room and she needs to be encouraged to rest it more, but I've put extra painkiller on her food for tonight (to help her sleep to rest it), and my partners off work tomorrow so will call the vets then and take her in if needs be.

Oh poor Bramble, hopefully the swelling will have gone down by tomorrow, and at least calvin is off, so if need be he can take her to the vet and look after her.

She's probably just done too much, too soon. I *think* fluid round a weak joint, ie after a op, is just there as extra protection, but a visit to the vets is the best option if it's no better today.

I hope the swelling on Bramble's knee corrects itself soon and doesn't cause her too many problems. I was really pleased to read how well her wound has healed and that her progress is good otherwise. How is the swelling today?

LOL! Oh we were back to the vets, much to Bramble's very vocal disapproval. The swelling and the fluid is a reaction to the sutures but as they break down themselves then its nothing to worry about. Dodgey thing is, he said if there was wire in then they would have to go in and take the wire out.... Now we were told that they had wired the knee back into position as well as using sutures to tighten and hold the ligaments in position, but there was no record of this in the operation notes.... hmmmmm, if my little girl comes to any harm...

Good to hear she's ok!

But that wire thing is really confusing... and even more confusing that the vets seems a bit confused about it...! Hope there won't be a problem.

I don't believe this, could it be a case of too many cooks. I know at our vets when we take CP cats to them, we can end up getting anyone, and although it's all on computer, it would be good to have the same vet now and again at least that way they know what's what. Really hoping this gets sorted out and Bramble doesn't have to go through another op to take wire out.

Her knee is still swollen, its all fluidy, but it doesn't bother her. She's hating her cage still LOL! The little lamb is on the window sill right now, sunning herself, she just loves being out the cage! We're taking her in next week for another check up.

And its back to the vets tomorrow we go! Oh yes, the saga continues. My little girl is walking funnier on that leg and not weight bearing on it.... hmmmmm. She doesn't appear to be in any pain, or we'd take her in tonight (with an out of hours charge of £78!!!!), but since she's happy other than that, we are taking her in for a regular appointment tomorrow at 5.40. Oh I shouldn't laugh, its not a ha ha funny laugh, just one born from hysteria... I know money shouldn't be a factor... but it doesn't grow on trees.... still we'd get a loan if it came to it, but should all be fine as am using savings.

Get pet insurance right now, anyone who hasn't got it! LOL
