Found somewhere better?
GT that is.
I've been seeing less and less of him over the past week or so, it could be the warmer weather of course, but....??? He called yesterday morning, had a chicken wing and then left, he's just called again for a quick brekkie but again left as soon as he'd finished. Wherever he's going he must be getting food and is keeping warm and dry. I hope he's gone *home*.

Re: Found somewhere better?
What a shame. I hope that if he has gone *home* that he'll continue to visit. You helped him so much Ian! Taught him to have fun and gave him lots of attention and love, so if he has moved on he'll be such a miss. As you say tho, it hopefully could just be the warmer nights, its only been a week and he'll know which side of his bread the butter is on, so I have no doubt he;ll be back.

Re: Found somewhere better?
Yeah, he could have gone back home or just moved on, but I'd like to know for sure. Totally out of character, he growled at Bola this morning, and he wasn't eating either, which was a surprise as while they're not best friends they've got on together fairly well.
As I said, wherever he's gone he must be getting food and is warm and dry. He had a few disappearing spells last year, but came back, but this calling for food and not getting his head down as well is very unusual.

Re: Found somewhere better?
One things for certian... if he chooses to move on atleast you know he's going to a good place. No way he'd stay away from yours unless it was equally nice! And equally nice would be hard to get.
It could well be the milder weather, though.

Re: Found somewhere better?
He was in just now, joining in the noise the other 5 were making to get me up to feed them, but he just had his brekkie and went straight out again. He's having less than one meal a day here now, so he has got to be getting fed elsewhere as he's got a good appetite...............I wonder where tho'?

Re: Found somewhere better?
Is he a neutered tom? Hope so but if not, perhaps it's the ladies taking up more of his attention
He's probably found yet another house to go to for food - you know what cats are like

Re: Found somewhere better?
Hi Gilly,
Sadly he's not neutered, tho' not sadly for him if he's after the ladies
He called again this afternoon, same thing tho', had another chicken wing and wandered straight back outside. Considering the weather here atm, wet one minute, sunny the next, then hailstones, then thunder and lightning, I would have expected him to stay, but not a bit of it.

Re: Found somewhere better?
I've just found him lay on top of the cooker, well it was warm after I used the grill earlier, and he's now eating some cooked meat and *another* chicken wing.
Gt was on the cooker, Jimmy was on top of the microwave, Bola was sat next to the microwave, Dexter was sat on the worktop, it's not a big kitchen to start with so it was a bit crowded

Re: Found somewhere better?
He wasn't in when I got back from the pub last night (and the weather was foul) but he was fast asleep on the set of drawers in the hall this morning.
'EDIT'
He's not interested in food one bit today, and hasn't purred when I've stroked him, his eyes look a bit *dead* as well I'm hoping he's just very tired.
I can't work out how they do it, surely their dirty paws would *clean themselves* on the carpets going upstairs, the only thing I can think of is one cat gives a cat with dirty paws a piggy back upstairs so they can dirty the bath

I'd much prefer it they learn to clean all the muddy pawprints they leave everywhere. The microwave and cooker top were filthy yesterday, but I couldn't believe the state of the bath todaypokbg wrote:ROFL! A kitchen full of kitties... all you got to do now is to teach them how to cook! lol!

Re: Found somewhere better?
Oh The dirty pawprints I can associate with and always after the bath has been cleaned. Ggggrrrr
He maybe tired cos he's out there having a fair old fling, It could also be milder weather, but whatever it is, if he's gone somewhere else, he's getting looked after just fine, if not he'll be back soon enough. Sophie has started disappearing for longer and not being there when we come home, so it could just be the weather though and they all have there different way of doing things when the seasons change.

Re: Found somewhere better?
I'm pretty sure it's only Jimmy who goes into the bath he had a spell of sleeping there a while back
GT's still fast asleep, but at least he's not just eating then going straight out again.

He may just be unsettled for whatever reason and before long, he will be back to normal with you. Hope so anyway, we need our daily dose of GT and the gang.

Re: Found somewhere better?
Last night I kinda got *proof* that he's being fed elsewhere............tho' I wish I hadn't.
He was sick again, in my bedroom this time, and the amount he brought back had to be seen to be believed Considering I'd only given him a chicken wing, plus a bit of wet, it was way more than he'd eaten here. I was watching tv when I heard him coughing upstairs so nipped up to check on him, but met him bolting down the stairs towards the flap, poor lad must have known he'd *done wrong* and was getting out of the way before I found out how.

Aaawww poor you ( never mind GT he doesn't have to constantly clean sick ). Well at least you know he's getting fed elsewhere but that's not very nice of him, to throw up at yours, after all you've done for him.

Re: Found somewhere better?
(Warning, too much detail alert)
Yeah, it wasn't very nice of him was it?
He hadn't eaten it that long before judging by the look of it, it was just half digested food, and lots of it. Normally, cleaning up after him means just using rubber gloves and a couple of sheets of kitchen towel, then disinfecting the spot, but not this time. Half a dozen sheets of towel later I was still scraping the last bits up..........................and the stench
It didn't stop him creeping back in after I'd gone to bed tho'

Re: Found somewhere better?
And just to baffle me, insterad of leaving my back garden his usual way today, he wandered round the front of my house and crossed the road to who knows where???? I suppose he knows his way around by now, but I don't recall ever seeing him heading in that direction before.
