Re: Tail
Sounds hopeful, with a bit of luck, it may all end up good.

Re: Tail
Hope he continues to improve Lynn, but atleast he doesnt appear to be in pain now. I will be looking forward to hearing how he is when I get back home next week.

Re: Tail
Hi Helen,
I haven't seen much improvement with his tail over the last few days, and only enough tablets to last a few more days. I am hoping that his tail will heal within the next week or so, but he seems happy enough to take his tablets and medicine (that's down his throat before he has time to blink ).
He sleeps alot during the day and stays out overnight so he must be feeling better.
Have been thinking of suing my vet for imcompetence (sp) as she left him without pain relief for over a week, and I also said to Mark that I wished I'd got a second opinion on Smokie before putting him to sleep. It seems to me that she just wants a really sick animal out of the way rather than treat it and give it a chance, that's what I think anyway, as she's not prepared to do certain things.

Re: Tail
Hi Lynn,
I meant to mention this earlier but forgot.
About the insurance paying for his treatment, I'd be very wary of including the cost of the first vets *treatment* in any claim you submit. Some insurance companies have a one illness/injury > one payment system, ie you can't claim again for the same thing in a given period and as you've changed vets they could be stroppy and say you're trying to claim twice for the same thing. A lot of insurers will go out of their way to avoid paying out given half a chance.

Re: Tail
Hi Nikki,
He's trying to keep his tail up, bless him. His tail will go up for a few seconds before curling over again, but seems to be improving.
He's a lot happier than he was and I even saw him washing Mary's face yesterday, that's the first time I've seen him do this since we got her.

Re: Tail
Ouch - poor Buddy!!! But I couldn't help but smile reading about him wolfing down even the tablets that fell out of the chicken. lol!
i really do hope he's feeling better and that his tail will improve so it won't need an amputation. Sending lots of healing vibes to Buddy.
And ouch again - £189!!!

Re: Tail
He came in yesterday and his tail was just about up right, so hoping that with time it will heal completely. He is alot happier now than he was and is enjoying cuddles again.

Re: Tail
Dunno what's going on with his tail at the moment, some days it's up others it's not, maybe it won't make a full recovery and he will now have a lop sided tail. He due to have his jabs next week so maybe take him back to my own vet and see if she knows what to do next.
