Re: The cattery is open (update)
It shouldn't be that different from the usual, all three are locked out during the day so come in here as and when they want till the youngest lad gets home from school, or Debbie is on earlies. Now they've gone, and assuming Aaron is staying overnight, he'll be going to work about 7-ish, so if they're in will let them out when he sets off and will be back about 5pm-ish to carry on with the work in their garden and will be able to let them in/feed them.

Re: The cattery is open (update)
Bet you see them more than Aaron does though, I bet they like the company. At the weekend, Moto is quite happy to sit/sleep on the sofa if we're in the room, if in the garden he'll come and sit and watch us, so they will like your company .

Re: The cattery is open (update)
I don't think it's my company they want Kath, more with my flap being open all the time means they have somewhere to shelter/snooze inside. All three must have been kept in last night as in the space of 30 seconds this morning, they all came tropping thro' my flap tho' only Max wanted breakfast.

Re: The cattery is open (update)
I've not seen much of Jimmy or Max since first thing, but Dexter has been on my sofa pretty much since lunch, he's taken a real liking to it......I'm just grateful he's stopped moulting......note the small tray of biscuits for when he wakes up feeling a bit peckish
'EDIT'
It's now 7.30pm and Max has just come bounding into my bedroom asking for a early supper.............and trying to type when a headbutting mad cat is forever nudging my elbow is tricky

Re: The cattery is open (update)
They all stayed last night, Dexter on the sofa, Jimmy on the spare bedroom windowsill and Max on my bed, which is where the trouble started.
As it was stiflingly warm I decided to just throw a sheet over the duvet and sleep under that, all went well till Max decided he'd be comfiest if he slept across my feet. No real problem till I'd just drifted off and he woke up to have a munch on the dry food at 1.30am, which in turn woke me as the bowl was on the bed. He finished his snack and climbed back aross my feet, then showed me how gateful he was by doing pushy paws.........which with his claws out and my only being *protected* by a thin sheet, hurt.
He must have done this at 20 minute intervals from then on, but each time he climbed onto my legs higher each time, and having a happily purring cat digging his caws into your thighs at gone 2.30am isn't conducive to a good nights sleep. I ended up cursing him then throwing a soft cat toy at him when he legged it, tho' it worked, he left me in peace to *enjoy* a couple of hours undisturbd sleep.

Re: The cattery is open (update)
All three stayed the night, but this time it was Dexter who wanted to sleep across my legs. Thankfully there was no pushy paws with claws out, instead he insisted on purring even louder than usual, the sort of sound that should be soothing but instead is just loud enough to keep you awake
What with my not getting to bed till late thanks to Bola choking, then Dexter keeping me awake, it might well be me needing a catnap during the day today

Re: The cattery is open (update)
They'll all be locked out of both houses today (unless Aaron is at home next door) till I get back from the pub later this afternoon, so it's a good job the forecast gives a sunny day*Prince* wrote:Ian B wrote:It's throwing it down atm, so of course Fudge and Bola are outside while Jimmy, Max and Dexter are all curled up on my bed

Re: The cattery is open (update)
When I got back from the pub yesterday I found the perfect way of keeping them out, tho' I'm not sure my neighbours appreciated it...............loud music, even Bola refused to come in, tho' perhaps it wasn't so much the volume as my taste in music

Re: The cattery is open (update)
Max woke me today by jumping on my chest at 5.15am, that wasn't too bad, but when I opened my eyes I swear he was going to spray in my face A quick slap *persuaded* him not to, but that would have been one hell of a unwelcome alarm call.

Re: The cattery is open (update)
All three must have gone home and stayed the night, but guess who fed them this morning? (only one guess needed btw)
It's chucking it down atm and they're all here again, Max asleep on my bed, Dexter asleep under a chair in my bedroom and Jimmy is on the spare bedroom windowsill. Thankfully Debbie and the rest are due back sometime over the weekend, but I'll bet there's no mention of all the uneaten food she finds

Re: The cattery is open (update)
They're back, I didn't expect to see them till tomorrow or Sunday Jimmy and Dexter have been home (tho' Jimmy soon came back here and is asleep on the microwave atm) but Max has been here pretty much all day now, if not in the house, in my garden so he's seen them knocking about next door. It looks like he's in no rush to go back and at least say hello to them

I felt a bit guilty about doing this, but as he kept coming in and asking for food last night and he wasn't getting any now they're back next door, I chased him out each time he came in. I didn't see him after the fifth time so hopefully he got the message, he wasn't there waiting in the garden foir me to get up today so that's likely. I would have locked the flap but Bola was out on his nightly travels.
Jimmy and Dexter went home pretty much straight away, they still called here, but I don't think Max even noticed he could go home.
